Job DescriptionJob Title: Pharmacist Job Description The Pharmacist plays a crucial role in achieving the pharmacy management's goals and objectives within the dispensing pharmacy. This position involves providing routine and emergency comprehensive drug screening, information processing, and dispensing services for various drug distribution systems. The Pharmacist is expected to exercise management skills and maintain accuracy to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of appropriate drug products to customers. Responsibilities • Execute day-to-day operations in the pharmacy, adhering to workflow, production quotas, and deadlines., • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal pharmacy practice regulations., • Assist in ensuring compliance with DEA policies and procedures., • Supervise pharmacy production staff to ensure proper order entry, workflow, security, and adherence to delivery schedules., • Check the completeness and accuracy of all new and refill labels and orders., • Oversee the preparation and/or supervision of all sterile IV drug products or solutions., • Assist in ordering, handling, receiving, documenting, and storing all controlled substances., • Maintain a perpetual inventory for schedule II drugs., • Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as required., • Ensure the workflow dashboard is cleared daily., • Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA., • Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code., • Perform other duties as assigned.Essential Skills, • Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy., • Current license to practice pharmacy in good standing., • Proficient in clinical interpretation: drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-food interactions, and allergies., • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English., • Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills., • Ability to accurately and efficiently dispense prescription medications., • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Attention to detail., • Collaboration skills., • Communication., • Decision making., • Discretion., • Performance management., • Problem solving/analysis., • Reliability., • Teamwork., • Technical capacity.Work Environment This position operates in a long-term care facility, utilizing standard office and pharmacy equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines. The work environment may be loud. Physical demands include sitting or standing for 7 to 10 hours per day, occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, walking, crawling, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. Staff Pharmacists work five days per week, with four 7.5-hour days Monday through Friday and one 10-hour day over the weekend, rotating every other weekend. Pharmacist hours are 6:30 am to 8:30 pm Monday through Friday and 7:00 am to 5:30 pm on weekends. No travel, holidays, or overtime is expected. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tyler, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
