Role Summary As the sole subject matter expert for the Benefits Department, you will own the entire lifecycle of our Total Rewards programs. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical knowledge of benefits administration, federal/state compliance, and financial reconciliation. You will serve as the primary architect for our benefits processes, leveraging our existing Paycom infrastructure to ensure all policies are legally sound, data-driven, and aligned with Boswell’s commitment to employee well-being. Key Responsibilities • Total Rewards Strategy & Administration: Manage the full benefits portfolio (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD). Oversee annual Open Enrollment, including plan design, vendor contract analysis, Paycom system testing, and employee communication strategies., • HRIS System Ownership: Serve as the internal subject matter expert for the Paycom Benefits and Payroll modules. Manage system configuration, workflows, and automated reporting to ensure seamless data flow between payroll and benefit carriers., • Regulatory Compliance & Governance: Serve as the internal authority on ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, and HIPAA. Lead all compliance initiatives, utilizing Paycom’s reporting tools to assist with preparation and submission of Form 5500s, 1094-C/1095-C filings, and EEO-1 reporting., • Data Integrity & HRIS Management: Maintain high standards of data integrity within Paycom. Perform data extraction and auditing to identify trends, ensure accuracy of payroll deductions, and provide actionable reporting to leadership., • Financial Stewardship & Reconciliation: Conduct monthly audits, reconciling carrier invoices against Paycom payroll data. Manage benefit cost-analysis, identifying discrepancies and ensuring financial accuracy for the organization., • Leave & Disability Management: Oversee the administration of federal and state-mandated leaves. Serve as the point of escalation for leave cases, ensuring strict adherence to documentation requirements and return-to-work protocols., • Retirement Plan Administration: Manage 401(k) plan administrative matters, including audit support and participant compliance testing. Qualifications & Skills • Experience: 4+ years of dedicated experience in benefits administration, compensation, and HR compliance, ideally within a multi-state engineering or professional services environment., • System Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in the HRIS ecosystem is essential. Proficiency in configuring benefits modules, managing carrier connections, and utilizing Paycom’s reporting and analytics capabilities., • Analytical Proficiency: Microsoft Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, complex formulas) for invoice reconciliation and cross-referencing data against HRIS outputs., • Regulatory Expertise: Advanced proficiency in navigating the regulatory landscape, specifically ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and complex state leave laws., • Strategic Communication: Ability to translate complex plan documents and legal requirements into clear, accessible information for employees and management., • Education: Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or Finance. Professional certifications (e.g., CEBS, CBP, SHRM-CP, or PHR) are highly preferred.
