Job DescriptionSalary: $20-35/hr Job description GRA Design Studio is a mid-size architecture & engineer firm working across residential, retail (including well-known franchises and quick serve restaurants), and commercial environments. As a growing studio with multiple active project teams, we are seeking a highly mobile, detail-driven architectural professional to serve as the first point of contact for projects in the field and a key connector between clients, consultants, and our design studios. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being out in the world rather than behind a desk, thrives on variety, and wants direct exposure to projects from their earliest stages. You will have the opportunity to travel frequently, represent the firm on-site, and touch projects across all studios, helping shape the foundation of design work from day one. You are often the first GRA team member a client sees on a project. In that sense, you are not just collecting data, but setting the tone for how a project begins. What Makes This Role Unique • High level of field autonomy and travel, • Exposure to diverse project types across multiple studios, • Early-phase involvement in projects that later become full architectural commissions, • Direct interaction with clients, brokers, and site stakeholders, • Hands-on use of advanced scanning, capture, and documentation technology, • A visible role as a representative of the firm in the field Key Responsibilities • Serve as first field contact for new project site visits and surveys, • Communicate with clients, brokers, and landlords to coordinate scheduling and access, • Travel frequently to project sites, sometimes for extended periods, • Book and manage travel logistics and maintain accurate trip records, • Conduct on-site surveys using standard and advanced techniques, • Operate and maintain equipment including Matterport systems, Faro scanners, and drones, • Document existing conditions through field notes, sketches, and measurements, • Capture, organize, and process field data for studio integration, • Collaborate with studio teams across multiple projects and disciplines, • Prepare clear, detailed field reports and daily project updates, • Translate field data into technical drawings using Revit, • Maintain equipment and troubleshoot issues as needed Qualifications • Experience with or exposure to surveying techniques and field documentation, • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, • Comfortable acting as a client-facing representative of the firm, • Valid drivers license and willingness to drive for extended periods, • Ability to travel frequently and be away from home when projects require, • Physically capable of fieldwork including walking, climbing, and standing for long durations in varying site conditions, • Strong organizational skills and sound judgment in the field, • Proficiency with computers and willingness to learn specialized survey tools, • Working knowledge of Revit required, • Architectural or design background preferred but not required Benefits: • Health, dental, & vision insurance, • Paid time off & Holidays, • Career growth opportunities & professional development assistance (Amber Books subscription, additional PTO for ARE prep & testing), • Retirement plan (401K with employer contribution), • Collaborative team dynamic, • Extracurricular activities (sports clubs, bowling leagues, etc) & company events, • Wellness activities and benefit offerings, • Flex scheduling, • Hybrid work environment, • Travel/mileage reimbursement Compensation package: • Bonus opportunities Schedule: • 8 hour shift, • Monday to Friday Education: • Bachelors in Architecture (Required) Experience: • REVIT (3+ years) (Required), • Site Survey experience Work Location: In person/Remote/Travel
