Job Description Commercial Electrical Foreman / Lead Electrician Clifford Electric is hiring an experienced Commercial Electrical Foreman who can take ownership of projects and lead crews throughout Southern California. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can run commercial tenant-improvement and ground-up projects without constant supervision. We need someone who thinks ahead, solves problems, protects the company’s scope, and keeps the project moving. The right candidate must be a strong commercial electrician and a confident field leader. You must be able to communicate professionally with general contractors and jobsite superintendents, including respectfully pushing back when requested work is unsafe, incorrect, outside our scope, or likely to create scheduling or cost problems. Responsibilities • Run commercial electrical projects from mobilization through completion, • Supervise, train, and hold field employees accountable, • Plan manpower, materials, and daily production, • Review electrical plans, specifications, one-lines, panel schedules, and project schedules, • Lay out work and provide clear direction to the crew, • Coordinate with general contractors, superintendents, inspectors, and other trades, • Troubleshoot electrical systems and resolve field problems, • Monitor productivity, quality, safety, and project progress, • Identify plan conflicts, missing information, scope gaps, and potential change orders, • Document delays, existing conditions, extra work, and GC-directed changes, • Order materials and prevent avoidable downtime, • Communicate project needs and concerns clearly with the office, • Perform electrical work alongside the crew when needed, • Help complete projects on schedule and within budget Required Qualifications • Minimum eight years of commercial electrical experience, • Minimum three years as a foreman or lead electrician responsible for running commercial projects, • Active California General Electrician Certification, commonly called a journeyman or JC card, • Electrician Trainee cards will not be accepted for this position, • Proven experience supervising electrical crews, • Strong commercial tenant-improvement experience, • Ground-up construction experience, • Ability to independently read plans, specifications, one-lines, panel schedules, and construction schedules, • Strong troubleshooting, layout, and problem-solving skills, • Experience with EMT, underground PVC, switchgear, panels, feeders, branch circuits, lighting controls, RTU connections, equipment connections, and electrical demolition, • Ability to recognize scope gaps and change-order work before proceeding, • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, • Personal hand tools required, • Willingness to travel to different Southern California jobsites Residential-only experience does not meet the requirements for this position. Applicants must be willing and able to report directly to different Southern California jobsites. Schedule Full-time. Most projects are daytime work, but occasional night or weekend work may be required depending on the project. Compensation Hourly rate based on commercial experience, leadership ability, and demonstrated field knowledge. Qualified applicants may be asked to complete a paid working interview.
