Job Overview: RBA Builders is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Working Foreman to lead field operations within our self-performing tenant improvement division. This role is ideal for a hands-on construction professional who thrives in a leadership position while remaining actively engaged in the day-to-day work on site. The Working Foreman will be responsible for supervising crews, coordinating subcontractors when needed, and ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality. This individual plays a critical role in bridging field execution with project management, helping to keep projects on schedule and within budget while upholding RBA Builders core values. Responsibilities: • Lead field operations with strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and coordination of multiple subcontractors, • Enforce and uphold all safety protocols, identifying and correcting violations while maintaining compliance standards, • Interpret construction drawings and specifications to accurately plan, lay out, and execute work, • Perform and oversee key trade tasks (e.g., framing, drywall, T-bar) while ensuring high-quality workmanship, • Manage projects with a clear understanding of original estimates and provide feedback to improve future bids, • Assist in pre-construction planning, including scheduling, site logistics, and manpower forecasting, • Support and follow project schedules, including CPM schedules, look-ahead planning, and production tracking, • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and industry partners to support ongoing business development, • Monitor job costs and productivity, contributing to accurate cost tracking and helping maintain budget performance, • Identify and mitigate risks on-site, ensuring proper insurance compliance, documentation, and safe work practices, • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, timekeeping, safety logs, and QA/QC records, • Understand and execute contract requirements, effectively communicating scope and ensuring compliance with owner and subcontract agreements Requirements: • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, with prior roles as a Foreman or Lead Carpenter, • Proven ability to supervise crews while actively performing hands-on trade work, • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and tenant improvement projects, • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents, • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing and coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors, • Solid understanding of jobsite safety standards and OSHA regulations, with a commitment to enforcement, • Experience with scheduling workflows, including look-ahead planning and maintaining production goals, • Basic understanding of project budgeting, cost control, and labor productivity tracking, • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with project managers, clients, and field teams, • Proficiency in completing daily reports, timekeeping, and using construction-related software or ERP systems Education/Experience: • Minimum 5 years of Construction field experience., • Proven knowledge and understanding of corrective/preventative action reporting., • Strong process improvement and scheduling experience., • Valid California drivers license., • Ability to pass a criminal background check for badging purposes Skills: • Leadership and team supervision, • Blueprint reading and technical interpretation, • Time management and jobsite organization, • Problem-solving and decision-making, • Communication and coordination Certifications: • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification (preferred: training available)., • First Aid/CPR Certification (preferred)., • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
