We offer hands-on help to address chronic homelessness, mental health, substance abuse, disability, and systematic poverty by offering innovative solutions and proactive services to the most vulnerable in Schenectady County. Our Residential Programs are staffed 24/7. The Monitoring Generalist is trained to oversee and monitor various operational components of four different agency positions. This position employs a wide range of monitoring tools and techniques to identify potential issues, ensuring the safety of facilities and clients, and to report findings, issues, and security breaches to their supervisor. The Monitoring Generalist must possess the ability to adapt across different monitoring domains and troubleshoot basic problems across various systems. Schedule/Hours: Sunday & Monday Overnight Shift: 12 am - 8 am (overnight) Pay Rate: $18/hr Duties/Responsibilities: • Monitor all security cameras as well as all visitors, residents / clients, and guests who enter and exit the building., • Follow protocol for use of electronic (door buzzer) access., • Hourly walks throughout the building to ensure safety., • Be aware of all movement in and out of the building., • Monitor behaviors and possessions going up to apartments., • Enact safety plan or Emergency Plan when appropriate., • Identify and respond to system alerts, escalating critical issues to appropriate staff, and taking necessary actions to mitigate potential disruptions., • Follow On-Call protocol., • Follow procedures for the residential program related to curfew, visitors, etc., • Follow all after-hours emergency or notification protocol., • Keep records as required for the log book with appropriate information written clearly and in detail., • Adhere to the agency’s policies and procedures and the personnel manual., • Maintain appropriate boundaries and keep confidential information regarding employees, volunteers, residents and guests.Qualifications:, • High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate degree preferred., • Two to five years’ experience in security and/or customer service., • Strong communications skills., • Computer literacy., • Knowledge of agencies, programs, and services in the community., • Ability to recognize and respond to an emergency., • Experience working with diverse and challenging consumers., • Ability to interact effectively with the public, volunteers, staff, and program participants., • Must have access to reliable transportation to and from work., • This position is required to routinely travel between sites and must have a valid NYS driver’s license with a safe driving history for at least 1 year, No DWI or DWAI within the last 3 years., • Must be able to successfully complete the Agency’s road test and qualify for coverage under the Agency’s vehicle insurance.This description does not contain a comprehensive list of duties, responsibilities or activities that are required of the employee.
