Job Description Entry-Level Vinyl Cutter - 1st Shift - $20/hr - South Park Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Vinyl Cutter / Vinyl Applicator to join a busy sign manufacturing team. In this role, you will prepare surfaces, cut vinyl, and apply graphics to a variety of substrates, ensuring clean, precise, and visually appealing finishes that meet client specifications. You will work hands-on with vinyl materials and tools in a fast-paced production environment, contributing directly to the quality and appearance of finished signs and graphics. Responsibilities • Prepare surfaces for vinyl application by thoroughly cleaning and ensuring they are free of dust, dirt, and debris., • Measure and cut vinyl materials to the required size and shape using cutting tools and equipment., • Apply vinyl graphics to a variety of surfaces, including vehicles, windows, walls, and signs, ensuring proper alignment and smooth finishes., • Use squeegees, heat guns, and other tools to remove air bubbles and achieve a seamless application., • Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy, making any necessary adjustments or corrections., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, including proper storage of vinyl materials, tools, and equipment., • Collaborate with team members in other departments to complete projects on time and meet client expectations., • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while performing tasks in a manufacturing environment., • Ability to perform precise, hands-on work with vinyl materials and cutting tools., • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements, clean cuts, and high-quality finishes., • Capability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to client specifications., • Comfort working in an industrial or manufacturing environment with general labor tasks., • Basic mechanical aptitude to use tools such as squeegees, heat guns, and cutting equipment safely and effectively., • Reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn vinyl application techniques., • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or general labor settings is helpful but not required for entry-level candidates., • Familiarity with vinyl cutting, weeding, and application processes is a plus., • Interest in sign manufacturing, graphics, or related trades., • Willingness to watch training materials and demonstrations to learn proper techniques. Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing facility that produces signs and related graphics. You will work in a loud, active environment with multiple departments operating simultaneously. The position is hands-on and physically engaging, involving time on your feet and working directly with vinyl materials, cutting tools, squeegees, and heat guns. You will collaborate closely with production team members in a shop setting where safety procedures and proper use of equipment are emphasized. Dress is practical and appropriate for a manufacturing and production environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
