Senior Radiochemist will apply extensive knowledge of radiochemistry in the manufacturing of clinical-grade radiopharmaceuticals to ensure the quality of clinical and investigational radiopharmaceuticals as specified by the standards stated in the USP Chapter <823> and 21 CFR 210, 211, 212. The individual will be familiar with equipment installation, maintenance, repair and technical support projects in functional areas of the radiochemistry laboratory. The senior radiochemist will develop new approaches in the synthesis and labeling of novel radiopharmaceuticals for clinical use, and work with a multidisciplinary team in developing Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Control for investigational drug applications (IND) and New Drug Applications/Abbreviated New Drug Application (NDA/ANDA) submitted to the FDA. The individual will collaborate actively and develop new investigations in these areas. The candidate will also report to the Associate Director and Directors of the PET Center and the Technical Manager of the PET Center for helping to manage and further develop standard operating procedures for the investigational Positron Emission Tomography (PET) drugs such that the facilities, equipment, and inventory control meet the associated regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities: • Lead the development of new procedures for the translation of new and/or novel radiotracers for investigational clinical use., • Develop manual or automated radiosynthesis protocols for manufacturing clinical-grade radiopharmaceuticals, • Develop quality control methods for new or novel radiopharmaceuticals, • Plan and perform production and quality control of radiopharmaceuticals according to current good manufacturing practices and aseptic technique, • Ensure that all manufacturing equipment are suitable and in working condition and all raw materials are qualified and within expiry before radiopharmaceutical production, • Ensure that radiopharmaceuticals used for clinical and research applications pass all associated QC tests prior to release., • Participate in root cause analysis and initiate investigations following any out-of-specification or deviation from radiopharmaceutical manufacturing procedure, • Perform updates and changes to SOPs through change control (CC) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), • Oversee design and performance of method validations, installation qualifications, and preventative maintenance on related chemistry equipment working with the radiochemistry team, • Follow university and medical center radiation and laboratory safety policies, • Aid preparation of Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) section for investigation of new drug (IND), New Drug Applications (NDA/ANDA), • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for manufacturing of clinical radiopharmaceuticals, • Aid Qualification and Validation runs for developed procedures when needed, • Prepare responses for FDA Information Request (IR) related to the CMC section, • Update CMC for changes in SOPs, • Follow and keep abreast with standards, regulations, and guidelines related to radiopharmaceutical manufacturing (21CFR 212 and USP <823>), • Doctorate degree in radiochemistry, chemistry or related area and / or equivalent experience / training, • Minimum of three years of related experience, • Fosters collaboration throughout the organization including other academic laboratories, with ability to source new ideas representing interests of the PET center and department of radiology, define expectations for projects, and ensure they are met through regular communications and excellent service., • Experience managing laboratory staff for oversight of designated tasks, set/adjust priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced, deadline-oriented, work environment to complete work at the expected standards, • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff at all levels of the organization, maintain a positive, problem-solving approach, and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism., • Demonstrated initiative, problem solving skills and analytical organization, communication and interpersonal skills., • Ability to manage projects through to completion, including development and participation in grant funded work., • Skills to evaluate issues and identify solutions within defined procedures and policies. Responsibilities Billing Operations & Governance • Provide firmwide leadership over the end‑to‑end billing function, ensuring consistent execution of billing policies, standards, and controls across all practice groups and offices., • Oversee the monthly billing close process, including prebill governance, billing timelines, escalation protocols, and quality assurance., • Ensure billing practices align with approved rate structures, fee arrangements, client engagement terms, and firm policy., • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex billing issues involving partners, high‑profile clients, or firm leadership. Leadership & Team Management • Lead, mentor, and develop Billing Managers, Supervisors, and Billing Specialists, fostering a high‑performance, service‑oriented culture., • Establish staffing models, performance expectations, and training standards across the billing organization., • Partner with the Associate Director of eBilling to ensure seamless coordination between traditional and electronic billing workflows, including shared standards, escalation protocols, and cross‑functional communication., • Support succession planning and organizational development within the billing function. Systems & Technology (Aderant Ownership) • Serve as the firm’s senior billing systems leader, with overall ownership of Aderant Expert billing configuration, controls, and optimization., • Partner with Financial Systems to enhance billing workflows, reporting, and system governance., • Partner with Data Governance to oversee rate setup logic, billing templates, matter maintenance standards, and system‑driven billing rules to ensure accuracy and consistency., • Drive system‑enabled efficiencies while maintaining data integrity and audit readiness. Pricing & Rate Alignment • Partner with Pricing to ensure rate and fee arrangements are accurately reflected in billing, including system setup, billing workflows, and client invoices., • Support implementation of approved rate changes, alternative fee arrangements, and client‑specific billing terms in coordination with Pricing and Revenue Management. eBilling Partnership • Partner with the Associate Director of eBilling to align electronic billing practices with firm billing policies, rate strategy, and client requirements., • Collaborate on billing initiatives that impact eBilling, including rate changes, new client onboarding, billing policy updates, and system enhancements., • Participate jointly in escalations involving significant client billing issues or policy exceptions. Partner & Client Advisory • Act as a trusted advisor to partners on billing strategy, invoice presentation, and resolution of complex billing matters., • Collaborate with partners and Finance leadership to address sensitive client billing concerns and support strong client relationships. Reporting, Controls & Process Improvement • Develop and deliver billing metrics, dashboards, and performance reporting for Finance leadership and firm management., • Establish, document, and maintain billing policies, procedures, and internal controls., • Lead billing‑related process improvement initiatives to reduce cycle times, minimize billing friction, and improve the client experience. Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required., • 10+ years of progressive law firm billing experience, including senior leadership responsibility within a large, multi‑office firm., • Extensive hands‑on experience with Aderant Expert required., • Strong understanding of legal billing practices, rate structures, fee arrangements, and billing governance., • Proven experience managing large teams in a high‑volume, partner‑driven environment., • Excellent communication, judgment, and relationship‑management skills, with credibility at the partner and executive level.
