Job Description • $750– on completion of 3 months of employment, • $750 -on completion of 6 months of employment Job Responsibilities (Assistant to Residential Manager): Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field preferred., • Two years of supervisory experience (in a residential setting) preferred., • Work experience in the field of developmental disabilities., • Valid New York driver’s license., • Strong written communication skills (English). Specific Responsibilities: * • Assist House Manager in supervising and coordinating efforts of staff assigned to the house., • Participate in the screening of applicants., • Assist on performance evaluations of staff job performance, • Make recommendations for staff promotions, terminations and change of positions., • Assist with staff training sessions which include, but are not limited to, in-service training, specific program training to assist the staff in serving the residents more effectively, etc., • Assist the House Manager in developing and maintaining staff schedules and staff assignment sheets., • Attend weekly staff meetings (and chair the meetings in the absence of the House Manager), which provides a forum for:, • Staff concerns, suggestions, and comments., • Communication between all staff responsible to provide care for resident., • Ensure accurate and timely completion of residential reports and attend team meetings when necessary., • Supervise staff performance during programming and recreational activities, and recommend training or corrective action as needed., • Ensure that data is taken correctly and entered into Therap every day, (MARs, T-logs, GERs, etc.) program procedures are being followed correctly and AMAP staff are following all necessary policies and procedures., • General Responsibilities, • Participates in In-service Training, • Becoming certified in CPR and First Aid within three months of employment., • Becomes Medication Administration Certified within six months of employment., • Becomes certified in SCIP within three months of employment., • Ensures that training in all areas remain valid as as mandated by regulations and agency policies., • Directly responsible for the health, safety and welfare of all residents., • Assumes additional responsibilities as necessary., • Participates in Agency committees as needed., • Resident Care, • Promote and ensure a clean, home-like environment for all residents., • Assists residents with all ADLs (showering, dressing, toileting, feeding etc.) and with cooking, cleaning, laundry, and completes regular housework when residents are not able to do so., • In the absence of the House Manger, acts as a liaison person between contracted services and the agency, facilitating prompt correction of any and all deficiencies present in the physical environment., • Develops and exhibits acceptable standards of a group home-like environment which conveys acceptable behavior toward the residents that will allow for maximum potential of self esteem, community integration, productivity and independent living skills., • Ensures compliance with Federal, State, local regulations, Agency policies and procedures., • Develops and maintains records of emergency evacuations (fire drills) in accordance with state and federal regulations., • Escorts residents to medical appointments, ensures follow-up medical appointments are scheduled and reports this information, as well as changes to medication or other orders, in writing to Manager and Nurse immediately after appointment., • Uploads all medical consults and other medical documentation to Therap within 24 hours of appointment and files paper copy in resident’s binder. #ZR Company DescriptionWe are a dynamic and diverse group making a difference in the lives of people with autism and other developmental disabilities.
