Job DescriptionJob Title: Concrete Repair Technician Job Description The Concrete Repair Technician performs heavy, labor‑intensive concrete restoration work on commercial and infrastructure projects across NY and NJ. This role focuses on chipping, grinding, patching, and structural repair in high‑dust, high‑intensity environments while strictly adhering to safety procedures and using appropriate protective equipment. Responsibilities • Perform concrete repair tasks including chipping, grinding, demolition, patching, and structural repair on commercial and infrastructure projects., • Use hand tools and power tools such as chipping guns, grinders, and other concrete repair equipment safely and effectively., • Carry out concrete finishing, masonry work, and related tasks such as rebar work, formwork, and epoxy applications as needed., • Work safely on temporary flooring, scaffolding, elevated platforms, and at heights using fall‑protection systems., • Follow strict construction safety protocols and consistently use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and fall‑protection gear., • Wear and maintain a half‑face respirator and comply with fit‑test requirements, including remaining clean‑shaven where the mask seals., • Operate in high‑dust, noisy, and physically demanding environments for extended periods, including lifting, bending, and kneeling for long hours., • Work in confined or awkward spaces while maintaining safe work practices and tool control., • Participate in and successfully complete extensive safety training before and during field assignments., • Collaborate with primarily Spanish‑speaking field crews and contribute to a cooperative, team‑oriented work environment., • Travel regularly to various job sites across NY and NJ using reliable personal transportation., • Follow project procedures, documentation practices, and site requirements, including the use of construction technology and submittal processes when applicable.Essential Skills, • Heavy concrete labor experience in chipping, demolition, patching, and structural repair., • Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift, bend, kneel, and work long hours in demanding environments., • Ability to read and speak English to understand safety procedures and work instructions., • Experience using chipping guns, grinders, and other concrete repair tools., • Comfort working at heights with fall‑protection systems and on temporary platforms and scaffolding., • Ability to wear a half‑face respirator and meet fit‑test requirements, including being clean‑shaven where the mask seals., • Familiarity with construction safety protocols and proper use of PPE., • Willingness and ability to travel between NY and NJ job sites using reliable transportation., • Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a field crew.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Prior experience in concrete restoration, waterproofing, or structural repair., • Experience with masonry, concrete finishing, rebar, formwork, and epoxy work., • Comfort working on temporary flooring, scaffolding, and elevated platforms., • Ability to work well with primarily Spanish‑speaking crews; bilingual English/Spanish is a strong plus., • Familiarity with construction software and documentation tools such as Procore and submittal processes., • Completion of OSHA safety certifications is a plus but not required., • Ability to pass extensive safety training prior to starting field work., • Reliable transportation to reach various job sites (tolls may not be reimbursed initially).Why Work Here? The pace is fast and the labor is physically demanding, requiring consistent lifting, bending, and kneeling. Field crews are predominantly Spanish‑speaking, creating a multilingual team environment, and travel between job sites is a regular part of the role. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln Park, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
