The unit cares for adult patients with a variety of acute medical conditions within the Medicine Service line. As a brand-new unit, 9 Gold offers staff the opportunity to help build the culture, and workflows from the ground up while working in a collaborative environment focused on patient safety, teamwork, and high-reliability care. The unit will operate with typical medical-surgical staffing ratios of approximately 4-5 patients per RN with PCA support, consistent with Parkland's team-based care model.
