American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Atlanta, Georgia. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 04/06/2026, • Duration: 8 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 6, 2026, • Length: 8 weeks, • High-acuity Surgery Trauma floor (Unit 6B) within a large, inner-city Level 1 trauma center, • Patient population includes spinal, neuro, trauma, and surgical cases, as well as gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, and paraplegia, • Patient ratio of 5:1, • Unit support includes nursing techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary on night shifts, • ED nurse and admitting unit complete a formal nurse handoff upon patient admission, • 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week, • Requires working 4 weekend shifts per month, • Block scheduling is not available — must be willing to work assigned shifts, • No on-call requirements, • Epic EMR requiredRequirements, • Active RN license (GA or Compact) required, • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred, • Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or surgical trauma nursing experience required, • Experience in a large, high-volume hospital environment required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-acuity facilities will not be considered, • Proven ability to manage critical, fast-paced, high-acuity trauma cases, • Epic EMR proficiency requiredAdditional Information, • No RTO (time off requests) will be approved during the contract, • Local candidates are accepted for this position With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
