The Clinical Nurse is responsible for the delivery and coordination of patient care provided by the caregiving team. D5N is a 21 bed neurosciences unit with one level of care. We take patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, brain tumors, aneurysms, seizures, traumatic brain injuries, neuromuscular diseases and other diagnoses involving the neurologic system. The floor beds consist of patients requiring every 4-hour monitoring. Additionally, there are 7 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) beds embedded in the 21 neuro floor beds. These patients are seizure disorder patients admitted electively with their anti-convulsant medications on hold and hard wired to continuous EEG. This allows the physicians to identify the area of the brain where the seizures are occurring. Many of these patients become candidates for brain mapping with surgically placed grids to further pinpoint the area causing the seizures. This mapping allows the surgeon to determine if the patient would be a candidate for surgical removal of parts of the brain to stop seizure activity and still allow the patient to have functionality. The nurse-to-patient ratio for floor patients is typically 1:5. Patients of all ages are seen 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. There is a total of 45 rooms in the ED, which includes 5 barco-lounger spaces for lower acuity patients. The Emergency Department is divided into five major zones: Major trauma and critical care, Resuscitation and minor care, Pediatrics, Acute care, and Rapid Care. There are two distinct waiting areas, one for pediatric patients and their families, and the other for all other visitors. There are 7 negative flow rooms, one of which is also an isolation room. Clinical and clerical workstations, nutrition areas, and supply and pharmaceutical dispensing machines are centrally located in each zone. A dedicated radiology suite, including 2 CTs, a DECONTAMINATION suite with a separate entrance, as well as a satellite lab are also located within the Emergency Department. In 2017, it is anticipated that Albany Medical Center will open a Level II Pediatric Emergency Department with 15 exam/treatment areas, 2 trauma resuscitation rooms, and a pediatric observation unit. Each ambulatory patient is initially evaluated at the triage. Patients arriving via EMS are directed to the appropriate patient care room by the flow facilitator during peak hours. Acute psychiatric services are referred to the Psychiatric Crisis Unit at the Capital District Psychiatric Center. From keynote decks and thought leadership to campaign copy and experiential and event messaging, you will help shape how our story shows up in the world. This role requires both craft excellence and strategic thinking-someone who can execute high-quality writing while contributing to messaging frameworks and storytelling systems and influencing how our story shows up across audiences and channels. * Lead copy direction for enterpriselevel storytelling, including executive presentations, leadership communications, and strategic narratives. * Translate complex healthcare strategies, data, and clinical concepts into accessible, persuasive narratives. * Partner with design to ensure narrative clarity, hierarchy, and cohesion across visual storytelling * Ensure messaging ladders clearly from enterprise narrative to product naming, audience, and channel execution * Set copy direction for integrated campaigns across web, digital, email, social, video, and experiential touchpoints * Adapt messaging for different audiences while maintaining brand consistency. * Collaborate with creative, marketing, and performance teams to align messaging with campaign objectives and outcomes * Support performance-driven messaging in partnership with digital and marketing teams. * * Lead narrative development for major events and experiential moments * Ensure cohesive translation of messaging across physical and digital event touchpoints. * Own and uphold brand voice, tone, and editorial standards * Provide copy leadership across teams to ensure consistency in terminology, clarity, and narrative alignment. * Review and elevate work produced by other writers, agencies, and partners * Contribute to the evolution of messaging frameworks and editorial best practices. * Act as a senior copy leader within the enterprise brand team, influencing creative quality across workstreams * Partner cross-functionally with Brand, Marketing, Communications, Web, Project Management, and Events teams. * Participate in creative reviews and messaging strategy discussions. * Work within established creative operations workflows and timelines. * 10+ years of professional writing and copy leadership experience, with a strong portfolio spanning enterprise, B2B, and consumer work * Deep understanding of brand voice systems, messaging frameworks, and multichannel storytelling. * Strong executive presence and experience writing for executive audiences, leadership communications, and enterprise storytelling. * Strong portfolio demonstrating work across presentations, campaigns, events, web, and video. * Ability to translate complex healthcare and clinical concepts into clear, compelling narratives. * Proven experience leading copy and narrative development for complex organizations or regulated industries (healthcare experience a plus). * Strategic thinker with hands-on execution skills; equally comfortable defining messaging frameworks and writing the work. * Experience guiding or mentoring other writers (formal people management not required). * Familiarity with AI writing tools and editorial workflow platforms. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. The base salary range for this position is$120,000 - $130,000.
