Job Description Warehouse Sanitation Worker BCforward is looking for a motivated Warehouse Sanitation Worker for an opportunity at Hicksville, NY. Title: Sanitation Worker Location: Hicksville, NY 11802 Pay rate: $23/hr Shift: Monday - Friday, 11pm - 7:30am and Saturdays from 7am to 5pm. Hours subject to business needs. Duration: 3 months with possible extension Description: Steel toed shoes are required but we may be able to provide composite safety shoe covers if they do not have them readily available Check with candidates to make sure they are willing to work Saturdays as required. The kettles are as big as hot tubs and the sanitation associates are required to stand over them and use elbow grease and chemicals to literally scrub the kettle clean. They use power washers and special protective boots and PPE to protect against the water and chemicals used in the process. Quality Assurance will then swab the kettle and examine it microscopically to ensure all traces of pudding are gone. Once trained, an associate will be able to clean the kettle in about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes-one of the expectations of the role. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Duties/Responsibilities: • Works under close direction of Warehouse Supervisor, • Utilize forklift, hoists or other handling equipment to move stone slabs & crates, • Perform a variety of warehouse duties such as: pull/assemble customer orders, check outbound orders for accuracy and completeness, restock and label vendor products, maintain displays, move, store, and replenish material., • Performs receiving duties such as receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, stock material, process customer returns and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims., • Maintain a clean and organized facility by sweeping, trash removal, etc., • Maintains a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to Management., • Offload and reload the photo station with materials, • This position will be included in the photo station rotation, • Perform other related duties as required Required Skills/Abilities: • Knowledge of commonly used practices & procedures within the stone industry, • Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job., • Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job, • 0-1 years general work experience, • Ability to work as a team with co-workers, • Forklift experience with certificate (preferred), • Basic math skills, • Attention to detail, • Customer Service skills Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent., • 0-1 year general work experience.
