Job Description Opportunity Stanislaus is assisting Valley Milk LLC in recruiting a Jr. Accountant for a temporary assignment covering a Leave of Absence (LOA). This role will begin with approximately three months of training, and the full assignment is expected to last about one year. The selected candidate will support ongoing accounting and reporting functions throughout the duration of the leave. The Jr. Accountant is responsible for the accurate accounting of milk, cream and various financial reporting for Legacy Milk Cooperative and Valley Milk LLC. Job Duties • Process producer payroll including review of all premiums, assessments, and deductions., • Distribute milk statements and reports for producers for advance and final billing., • Prepare reports to balance with milk haulers., • Update milk market pricing to review weekly., • Balance milk and cream sales transactions with suppliers and customers., • Prepare and analyze monthly cream sales report and review variances with customers., • Invoice cream and milk sales twice per month., • Responsible for timely and accurate government reporting for USDA, CDFA and Federal Milk Marketing Order (FMMO NO 51)., • Prepare annual 1099-PATR for producer payments., • Monthly reporting of milk receipts and milk sales., • Prepare and distribute yield reports for plant throughput., • Review milk pooling capacity and analyze data to determine pooling decision monthly., • Prepare monthly milk production reports, charts, and graphs., • Prepare monthly reports for outside CPA., • Prepare ACH’s for producer payments., • Maintain bank reconciliation records for Legacy Milk Cooperative., • Responsible for Legacy Milk Cooperative’s bookkeeping including journal entries, payroll, account receivable and accounts payable., • Prepare monthly financial reports for Legacy Milk Cooperative., • Responsible for providing records to USDA for milk pooling audits., • Assist with annual budgets for Legacy Milk Cooperative., • Represent the department in projects or assignments as determined by the CFO., • Performs other responsibilities as determined by business needs. Work Environment This job operates primarily in a professional office environment with occasional work performed in a process manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, multipurpose scanner/photocopiers and filing cabinets. While performing some duties of this job, the team member may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is generally at normal levels. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. The team member is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and finger movement, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work The Jr. Accountant is a full-time, non-exempt/hourly position and reports directly to the Senior Accounting Manager. The regular work schedule for the position is M–F, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with a 1-hour unpaid meal break. Travel Any job-related travel is primarily local during the business day and generally minimal, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected to attend trainings, conferences, or meetings. Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, business administration, finance or related field, • Minimum of 2 years’ Accounting experience, • Strong working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Quickbooks, Sage or similar ERP System, • Strong time management skills, • Dairy industry finance experience is strongly preferred but not required, specifically knowledge of dairy costing and Federal Milk Marketing Order, • Ability to understand the overall manufacturing process of an ERP system, specifically the transition of raw goods into finished product Work Authorization / Security Clearance Candidates must demonstrate current US work status eligibility.
