Job Description Job Description Position Title: Housekeeper Department: Plant Services Supervised By: Plant Services Director Location: Santee, Ca Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly Posted: 04/0682026 Closing Date: Until Filled Compensation: $16.90-$18.00 Hours: Multiple Shifts Available General Statement of Responsibilities: The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Duties include cleaning resident apartments, common areas, restrooms, offices, and other assigned areas in accordance with community standards, infection-control practices, and safety regulations. This position supports the overall well-being of residents by ensuring that all living and service areas reflect Lantern Crest’s commitment to quality and hospitality. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: • Cleans resident apartments including furnishings, fixtures, shelves/ledges, HVAC units, bathrooms, windows, mirrors, blinds, and shutters., • Cleans and maintains common areas, hallways, stairways, elevators, entryways, recreation rooms, and other assigned spaces., • Performs full cleaning routines such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, and spot cleaning., • Vacuums, shampoos, deodorizes, and disinfects carpets as assigned., • Washes, wipes, and disinfects walls, ceilings, and surfaces to remove dirt, dust, grease, and film., • Removes and disposes of trash from all assigned areas; relines waste containers with appropriate liners., • Completes resident personal laundry and community laundry following established procedures., • Irons resident laundry items upon request., • Returns clean items promptly and respectfully to proper storage or resident areas., • Follows all infection-control protocols, universal precautions, and cleaning standards., • Uses appropriate PPE and cleaning products when handling infectious materials, hazardous waste, or chemicals., • Mixes and uses chemicals, disinfectants, and cleaning solutions according to manufacturer instructions., • Adheres to labeling requirements and maintains knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS)., • Reports missing, improperly labeled, or improperly stored chemicals to the Maintenance Director, Housekeeping Supervisor, or Executive Director immediately., • Keeps housekeeping cart secured and ensures all chemicals remain inaccessible to residents; cart must be locked when unattended., • Takes mops, rags, and cleaning cloths to laundry at end of shift., • Performs deep cleaning of units following transfer or discharge, including cleaning beds, furnishings, and fixtures using prescribed techniques., • Follows assigned cleaning schedules and work routines as closely as possible., • Communicates any suspected or observed change in a resident’s condition to a supervisor immediately., • Reports hazardous conditions, equipment issues, or maintenance needs to the Maintenance Director or Housekeeping Supervisor., • Maintains a professional appearance and behavior at all times., • Cleans and restocks housekeeping cart at the end of each shift and returns it to the designated locked storage area., • Follow Universal Precautions and all infection control procedures regarding exposure to blood or bodily fluids., • Follow all fire, safety, and emergency procedures to ensure the well-being of residents and staff., • Demonstrate professionalism, tact, and courtesy when interacting with residents, families, and visitors., • Maintain all required certifications and licensure in accordance with state law and company policy., • Represent Lantern Crest positively by engaging courteously with guests and visitors during tours or community events., • Maintain confidentiality of all resident, family, and staff information., • Participate in ongoing education to stay current with senior living, assisted living, and dementia-specific care practices., • Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support community needs. Education/Experience: Minimum, high school diploma or equivalent required. Prior housekeeping experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or similar setting preferred. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Knowledge of cleaning practices, infection control, and safe chemical handling required. Licenses/Certifications: None. Character: Applicants must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness. Must be responsible and able to exercise good judgment, accept administrative supervision, pay attention to detail, follow instructions, including the ability to interact effectively and communicate with people in a professional and courteous manner. Physical and Personal Requirements: Normal hospitality environment. Sit or stand for long periods of time. Reach, bend, climb, stoop, lift up to 40 lbs. repetitive hand movement; use and view PC. Compliance: Each employee plays a key role in creating a compliance culture. Employees are expected to learn and comply with all Lantern Crest policies and procedures. One must have the ability to understand the implications and complexities of all compliance policies. Participation in all compliance training is mandatory and generally has a heightened awareness of policies and regulations that are specific to one’s department and position. All Lantern Crest employees are expected to report violations or suspected violations of compliance policies or regulations. Other: Applicants must successfully pass a pre-screening tuberculin skin test or x-ray and a urine drug screen test. Candidates will be required to undergo a physical to ensure health is adequate to perform all duties of the position. Applicants must complete application and authorization form, both must be submitted to Human Resources prior to the close date indicated. Applicants will be required to undergo a background check consisting of fingerprinting and criminal records check with DOJ and FBI, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
