JOB TITLE:Housing Assistant Director FLSA STATUS: Exempt DATE: January 27, 2026 REPORTS TO: Construction Housing Director ORGANIZATIONAL MISSION Seeking to put Gods love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB The key dimensions of this position are planning, managing and supervising the affiliates partner selection and partner support activities. This position manages and leads the affiliate's procedures for the selection of applicants for the home buying and home repair programs, ensures that partner home buyers are trained for successful homeownership in accordance with the organization's policies, and manages the Neighborhood Revitalization Program mortgage underwriting and origination process.The Assistant Housing Director works directly with and recruits volunteers to serve on the Partner Selection and Partner Advocacy Committees. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE AREAS Ensure Integrity of Habitat Housing Services • Ensure the highest legal and ethical standards guide the Partner Selection and Partner Advocacy volunteers and activities so there is no discrimination of partner home buyers/home owners and repair partners, to provide equality regardless of differences including, but notlimited to, status and characteristics protected by state, federal or local laws., • Maintain HFHIs Qualified Loan Originator (QLO) compliance through annual federal and loan origination training, • Lead, Coordinate and Manage the Application Process for all Housing Services, • Manage Homebuyer Education and Partnership Fulfillment Program., • Recruit and coordinate volunteers to teach ongoing education classes., • Responsible for outreach and partnerships to HFHSs approved geographical service area, partnering in outlying communities on behalf of the HFHS Housing Services Department to reach constituents in need of safe, decent and affordable home ownership., • Recruit, train and coordinate the Partner Services and Partner Advocacy Committees to ensure maximum involvement and collaborative volunteer leadership of applicant recruitment and partner selection., • Manage the process and documentation of the selection activities for the home owner and home repair programs to ensure that qualifying partners are consistently selected using approved HFHI and HFHS policies, and following grant guidelines, and ensuring compliance with Equal Housing Opportunity guidelines., • Protect the privacy and dignity of applicants and approved partners at all times, collecting signed publicity releases and retaining the originals in the partner homebuyer folders., • Maintain all application status records, tracking applicants status for weekly staff meetings; report the number of applicants and dispensation of their applications (number that did not meet ability to repay due to income ranges, debt, unwillingness to partner and need for affordable housing) along with demographics of each category as tracked by HFHI and for grants., • Provide staff support to the Partner Selection and Partner Advocacy Committees through training sessions, oversight of volunteer work, following up on home visits and working to present recommended applicants for approval., • Notify applicants regarding the progress and outcomes of their applications., • Oversee the loan writing and origination process, in collaboration with the Housing Director and other staff, from initiation to end of closing process, including gathering home buyers final income and credit documentation, filing notice of intent to sell, securing flood certificate, securing insurance quote, ordering title search, setting amounts of deeds of trust, preparing closing documents, preparing home owners binder, ensuring transfer of utilities and initiation of trash service., • Setting up loan servicing where applicable TRACK AND MANAGE HOME BUYER EDUCATION AND PARTNERSHIP FULFILLMENT PROGRAMS • Manage Homebuyer Education and Partnership Fulfillment Programs., • Recruit, train and coordinate volunteers to teach the ongoing education classes, • Coordinate partner home buyer and partner advocate participation in special events including ground breakings and home dedications., • Work with the Housing and Marketing Directors to promote HFHS through media sources by sharing approved media releases of partner home buyers KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES • Commitment to the Habitat for Humanity concept as a Christian housing ministry, core values, principles, and covenant, as well as willingness to work on a collaborative team., • Ability to relate to all types of people and levels within the organization including volunteers, the general public and community organizations., • Ability to treat volunteers, customers, fellow employees and the general public with courtesy, dignity and respect., • Commitment to a safe working environment following safety policies, guidelines and procedures., • Good reasoning ability and mathematical skills., • Excellent time management skills and strong communication skills., • Effective problem solving skills with various situations that involve customers, staff, or volunteers., • Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented, and work well in a team environment. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS • College Degree Preferred, • Must possess a valid drivers license, have a good driving record and ability to be approved as a covered driver under the commercial insurance policy., • Must complete HFHS training program requirements for your job title.
