We are a lean, high-performing team that values precision, accountability, and client service. Position Overview MLG is seeking an experienced Business Immigration Paralegal to join our team. This role supports the full lifecycle of complex business immigration matters, with a primary focus on nonimmigrant visa petitions, PERM labor certification, Adjustment of Status Applications, and consular processing. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing a high-volume docket in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Nonimmigrant Visa Petitions • Prepare Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker, and applicable classification supplements (H-1B, O-1, L-1, TN, E-3, H-1B1) for attorney review and filing with USCIS., • Assist with Labor Condition Application (LCA) preparation and posting requirements for H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 petitions, in accordance with DOL regulations., • Conduct client document review, and assemble supporting documentation required by USCIS/US Consulates/US CBP for each visa category., • Support attorney in drafting responses to Requests for Evidence issued by the U.S. government., • Monitor USCIS case statuses and manage deadlines., • Coordinate premium processing requests and USCIS online filing system submissions where applicable. PERM Labor Certification • Support the PERM labor certification process under attorney supervision., • Coordinate the prevailing wage determination request to the U.S. Department of Labor., • Assist with employer PERM pre-filing recruitment activities., • Organize and maintain complete recruitment documentation; prepare recruitment reports suitable for DOL audit review., • Prepare ETA Form 9089 (Application for Permanent Employment Certification) for attorney review and submission via the DOL FLAG system. National Visa Center (NVC) Processing • Manage NVC case processing through the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC), including fee payment coordination and document submission in accordance with State Department instructions,, • Assist clients with completion and submission of Form DS-260, Immigrant Visa Electronic Application, through the CEAC portal., • Collect, review, and organize required civil and financial documents (including Form I-864, Affidavit of Support) for NVC document review., • Monitor case status, track priority dates against the monthly DOS Visa Bulletin, and maintain accurate case records., • Correspond with NVC as needed regarding case status and document completeness. Consular Processing • For nonimmigrant visa applicants: assist with preparation of Form DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application, through the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC), and guide clients on interview scheduling and required documentation in accordance with State Department and embassy/consulate instructions., • For immigrant visa applicants: prepare interview packages and advise clients on consular interview requirements, including required civil documents and the DS-260 confirmation page, consistent with State Department guidance., • Coordinate with U.S. embassies and consulates regarding appointment scheduling and case-specific requirements., • Advise clients on documentation requirements under attorney supervision, and flag cases that may require additional administrative processing. General Case Management • Maintain case calendars and deadline management across a multi-attorney immigration docket., • Communicate directly with corporate clients and individual beneficiaries regarding case status, documentation requests, and process timelines., • Maintain organized and complete electronic case files in the firm’s case management system. Qualifications • 2-3 years of U.S. business immigration paralegal experience in a law firm setting (required), • Direct, hands-on experience with PERM labor certification, NVC processing, and consular processing, • Proficiency with nonimmigrant visa categories filed under Form I-129, including H-1B, O-1, L-1, TN, E-3, and H-1B1, • Familiarity with DOL FLAG system, USCIS online filing portals, and the State Department’s CEAC platform, • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume, deadline-driven caseload, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; client-facing experience preferred, • Proficiency with immigration case management software (experience with Docketwise a plus), • Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certificate or advanced degree a plus Salary Range $60,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
