POSITION SUMMARY: The Membership & Fitness Director will manage all aspects of the membership department including recruitment of new members, retention of existing members, evaluation of services and supervision of assigned staff. This position will develop plans and implement new procedures and methods to achieve strategic goals. The Director will be responsible for high-quality customer service, which includes, but is not limited to, meeting the internal and external customer needs, and presenting a positive attitude. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: • Responsible for effective leadership in the following departments: Memberships, Guest Services and Fitness, • Implements membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members; provides extraordinary member services and responsiveness to member needs, • Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction, • Effectively manages all aspects of the membership pricing structure, • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, directs, and evaluates personnel as needed, • Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members, • Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in, and web registration, • Coordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provides ongoing support to Program Directors on related issues, • Participates in the planning of annual budgets; manages and implements the approved budget for membership and takes appropriate action to correct variances, • Ensures proper implementation of Guest Services procedures, reviews and updates Guest Services SOP's and communicates changes to staff, • Effectively collaborates with the Finance Team to ensure compliance and efficient processes, • Organizes membership events and represents/promotes the venue at community events, • Serves as an integral member of the MLRE Leadership Committee, • Conducts sales tours of the facilities and gives guidance to prospective customers on the type of membership categories best suited to their needs, • Completes a variety of clerical duties providing accurate records and appropriate reports, • Maintains a professional image within the community and the venue, • Develops and promotes increased enrollment in new and existing programs, • Achieves performance-to-plan budget goals and membership enrollment goals, • Effectively manages stakeholder feedback, complaints, and compliments, • Perform the MLRE Manager-on-Duty (MOD) role as needed, • Proven success in generating revenues through recruiting new memberships and satisfying existing memberships, • Experience in youth and amateur sports as a consumer and a director, • Experience in corporate memberships and activation, • Proven experience in the successful launch of fitness-specific venues/events, • Experience and success in customer service, leadership, and promoting, • Action-oriented personality with a 'get it done' attitude and proficiency for efficiency, • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience, • Previous supervisory experience in customer service, • Strong computer skills required with MS Office software and basic website capabilities, • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community, • Certification for CPR and First Aid required within (1) month of hire, • Must be able to lift 40 pounds waist high, • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend, • Will be required to operate a computer, • Facility has intermittent noise Job Posted by ApplicantPro

Description Soccer Stars and Amazing Athletes of Long Island & Eastern Queens is seeking a full-time Coaching Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing, developing, and evaluating our coaching staff to ensure high-quality instruction and program execution. The Coaching Manager will also play a key role in hiring, training, and mentoring coaches while collaborating with internal departments to optimize scheduling and staffing. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a proactive mindset, and excellent communication abilities to support coach development and program growth. This position involves both hands-on coaching support and administrative coordination to ensure the best experience for our young athletes and their families. For the right candidate, success in this role could evolve into a larger leadership position as we continue to grow and expand our footprint across Long Island and Queens. Responsibilities: Coach Development & Training: ● Design and implement a comprehensive training program for coaches based on performance evaluations. ● Lead coach training sessions to ensure alignment with Soccer Stars and Amazing Athlete curriculum and coaching philosophy. ● Provide ongoing mentorship, feedback, and support to coaching staff at all levels. ● Conduct regular site visits to ensure class quality, provide feedback, and liaise with parents. ● Evaluate coach performance and provide structured feedback to drive improvement. ● Monitor coach performance and determine advancement for coaches alongside the promotion cycle. Program Management & Operations: ● Oversee the strategy and execution of coach hiring, training, and scheduling. ● Supervise and evaluate coaching staff to maintain and enhance program quality. ● Supervise the Coaching Coordinator to accomplish coaching department goals. ● Maintain accurate inventory and distribution of program equipment. ● Work with the Staffing Coordinator to determine staffing decisions by aligning coaches with appropriate classes and age groups. ● Act as the primary point of contact for coach-related inquiries, feedback, and development. Leadership & Community Engagement: ● Support and report to the Owner and Regional Manager, contributing to overall program success. ● Promote and uphold the Soccer Stars brand through community engagement and partnerships. ● Collaborate with the administrative team on coach performance tracking and development. ● Assist in ad-hoc projects associated with the success of the business. Requirements ● Minimum of 2+ years of soccer coaching experience. ● Minimum of 4+ years of management or supervisory experience. ● Degree in childhood education, physical education, or sport management is a plus. ● Ability to work weekends. ● Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to large groups. ● Strong leadership and mentorship skills. ● Customer service-oriented mindset. ● Exceptional organizational and communication abilities. ● Ability and willingness to travel across Long Island and Eastern Queens regularly. ● Energetic, enthusiastic, and outgoing personality.
