Job Description Position Title: Bi-Lingual (Spanish) Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Specialist Assistant Department: Care Management FLSA Status: Part Time Non-Exempt Reports to: IDD Supervisor Position Summary: The Bi-Lingual (Spanish) IDD Specialist Assistant is a professional whose primary responsibility is to assist the IDD Specialist in all aspects of the DD and DDD application process. The Bi-Lingual IDD Specialist Assistant must have experience with the IDD population and an understanding of the Children’s System of Care, PerformCare, and the Division of Developmental Disabilities. The Bi-Lingual IDD Specialist Assistant must also be able to effectively communicate with consumers, youth, families and community-based resources in English and Spanish to ensure applications are moving forward and that effective linkages to needed resources are being made. This position is part time with a work week of 20 hours. Major Responsibilities: • Provide direct support to the IDD Specialist to maintain the DD (youth) and DDD (adult) applicant waitlists., • Assist in making follow up phone calls to individuals who are registered as a current applicant., • Manage documentation with updates on applicants in Microsoft One Note., • Manage CMO enrolled list containing youth who have the potential to apply for DD eligibility., • Assist families in accessing and advocating for services through their private insurance., • Assist families in accessing services for youth in school., • Provide information and resources available to families about transitioning to adulthood., • Assist families with the completion of the DD application and the DDD (adult) application., • Change management, • Flexibility and adaptability, • Detail oriented, • Integrity, • Oral and Written Communication, • Reliability, • Critical and Independent Thinking Minimum Requirements for the position: • Bachelor’s degree and/or two years of experience working with I/DD population and families, • Knowledge of DD and DDD applications, • Spanish language proficiency is required to support Spanish-speaking youth and families, • Knowledge of Functional Behavioral Assessments/FBA, Applied Behavioral Analysis/ ABA, Individualized Educational Plans/IEP, Child Adaptive Behavioral Summary/CABS, Crisis Stabilization Assessment Centers and Out of Home/OOH assessments/processes and resources The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • Ability to occasionally lift objects up to 25 lbs.
