Paralegal - Defense Litigation (On-site, Long Island)

Job Description Weber Gallagher has an immediate opening for an experienced defense litigation Paralegal in our Long Island Office. The individual will be responsible for supporting a team of attorneys with litigation tasks from inception through trial and close. Responsibilities: • Manage client cases from inception through trial and closing., • Daily time entry billing requirements., • Obtain, review, analyze and summarize documents, including medical records, financial documents and other relevant case information., • Trial preparation – such as trial binders, exhibits and preparing witness files., • Manage court docket calendar., • Create status reports and provide updates to appropriate parties., • Willingness to work on cases from start to finish and meet all court deadlines., • 3+ years of experience, preferably in defense litigation support., • Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved organization., • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills., • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet all deadlines and prioritize workload., • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams of attorneys, legal staff, court staff, clients, expert witnesses, etc., • Demonstrated interest in defense litigation., • Ability to perform legal research, experience with Lexis a plus., • Familiarity with reviewing and obtaining medical records., • Experience with time entry billing in a law firm setting., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, required.
