Location: Flexible across EU Job Overview The Head of Commercial Finance & Governance is a senior leadership role sitting at the intersection of Finance and Commercial, with direct visibility and accountability to the Board. The role exists to introduce, establish, embed, and sustain commercial governance in a business that has historically grown through entrepreneurial decision-making, informal practices, and siloed ways of working. This role ensures that commercial strategy, execution, and investment decisions are financially sound, consistently governed, transparent to leadership and the Board, and aligned to sustainable, profitable growth. BOARD-LEVEL MANDATE: The Board expects this role to: • Act as a guardian of commercial discipline, • Provide clear, unbiased insight into revenue quality, margins, and ROI, • Ensure management decisions are data-driven and properly governed, • Reduce commercial risk without slowing the business unnecessarily Responsibilities and Accountabilities of the Role Board & Executive Reporting • Prepare and present commercial finance insights to the Board and Committees, • Report on revenue quality, margins, pricing discipline, and commercial ROI, • Translate complex commercial activity into decision-ready insights, • Act as a trusted advisor to the Board on commercial and financial risks Commercial Partnership (Sales & Marketing) • Act as the primary finance partner to Commercial leadership, • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Regional teams, • Challenge assumptions constructively to ensure profitable growth, • Enable informed and timely commercial decision-making Pricing, Discount & Deal Governance • Design and implement pricing and discount governance frameworks, • Define approval thresholds, margin guardrails, and escalation paths, • Ensure consistency across regions and sales channels, • Actively monitor and manage margin leakage Commercial Planning, Forecasting & Performance • Lead commercial forecasting discipline with Finance and Commercial teams, • Improve forecast accuracy and credibility, • Align commercial targets with financial plans and operational capacity Commercial Investment & ROI Governance • Establish governance for marketing spend, congresses, KOLs, and pilots, • Require clear business cases and post-investment reviews, • Ensure ROI visibility to Executive Management and the Board Incentives, Rebates & Commercial Agreements • Oversee governance of sales incentives, rebates, and distributor agreements, • Ensure incentives drive profitable and sustainable growth, • Partner with HR and Legal on consistency and compliance Commercial Governance & Ways of Working • Build governance frameworks where none previously existed, • Clarify decision rights, ownership, and approval authorities, • Break down silos between Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Operations, • Act as a neutral arbiter when priorities conflict Finance Integration & Capability Building • Ensure one version of the truth across Finance and Commercial, • Strengthen commercial finance capability across regions, • Initially hands-on, with potential to build a small team over time Experience and Qualifications Essential to have: • 10–15 years’ experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, or Business Finance, • Experience in aesthetics, medical devices, pharma, or healthcare, • Proven experience building governance in under-structured organisations, • Experience of handling complex transformational change, • Second language is preferred Values & Behaviors We are a business driven by values and our collaborative culture.
