Acting as an independent advisor and intermediary, Auctentic supports private sellers throughout the selling process — from the initial professional review of the item, through valuation and buyer interest, to appointment coordination, secure logistics and final sale. As part of our continued growth in France, we are looking for a Private Client Manager with formal gemology certification, proven experience in fine jewelry, diamonds and watches, and strong commercial ability. About the role • This role combines gemological expertise, private client advisory, consultative sales and business development in the French market., • The Private Client Manager will be the first professional point of contact for private clients considering the sale of high-value jewelry, diamonds, gemstones or watches. The role requires the ability to understand the item, review the initial information provided, qualify the opportunity from both a professional and commercial perspective, and guide the client through the next steps of the process., • We are looking for someone who can speak confidently about fine jewelry, diamonds and watches, while also understanding the concerns private clients may have around value, trust, discretion, logistics and the decision to sell. The right candidate will be commercially driven, highly credible with VIP/private clients, and able to move qualified opportunities forward in a professional and discreet way. Responsibilities • Manage the private client journey in France from initial inquiry through professional and commercial qualification, follow-up and progression to the next stage of the selling process., • Lead advisory and sales conversations with private clients holding fine jewelry, diamonds, gemstones and watches, building trust and managing expectations throughout the process., • Conduct professional qualification of submitted items, assessing category, quality, brand, condition, documentation, gemological details, commercial potential and fit with Auctentic’s process., • Review item information including photos, certificates, grading reports, brand documents, invoices, purchase history, provenance and physical condition, and identify any material information gaps., • Ask the right technical and commercial questions to complete the client file and support internal valuation and commercial review., • Prepare clear professional and commercial summaries for relevant items, including key details, missing information, client expectations and recommended next steps., • Translate professional information into clear and credible language for clients, while maintaining discretion and care when discussing value or sale potential., • Handle client concerns and objections around value, trust in the process, privacy, secure logistics, payment and timing., • Move qualified clients toward a clear next step, including completion of information, appointment scheduling, secure shipment or further commercial review., • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant referral partners, including jewelry professionals, wealth advisors, family offices, private banks, lawyers, notaries and other trusted advisors., • Contribute to the growth of Auctentic’s activity in France by identifying qualified opportunities, improving client communication and supporting conversion from lead to deal., • Maintain accurate client and item information in the company’s systems, including documentation, status, notes, tasks and communication history. Requirements • Native-level French and strong English., • Formal gemology certification, such as GIA, HRD, IGI, Gem-A or equivalent., • Proven hands-on experience with fine jewelry, diamonds and watches., • Experience inspecting jewelry and diamonds, reading certificates and documentation, identifying missing information and preparing item information for valuation or further commercial review., • Experience in private client advisory, jewelry buying/selling, luxury retail, high jewelry, auction houses, private sales, valuation support or a similar commercial role., • Ability to confidently discuss metal type, carat, cut, clarity, color, certificates, condition, brand, setting, provenance, treatments and market relevance., • Experience working directly with private clients, preferably VIP / HNW clients or clients holding high-value pieces., • Strong sales ability, commercial judgment and confidence in moving clients from initial interest to clear action., • Ability to understand client needs, concerns, objections and expectation gaps, and manage conversations that move the process forward., • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain professional information in a clear, calm and credible way., • High level of discretion, professionalism, integrity and attention to detail., • Strong follow-up skills, organization and ability to manage several client processes at the same time., • Initiative, independence and ownership of the client process from first contact to next commercial step. Nice to have • Established network within the French luxury, jewelry, watch or private client ecosystem., • Experience working with collectors or private clients holding high-value pieces., • Experience in auction houses, luxury resale, valuation companies or private sales., • Familiarity with secure logistics, insurance or handling of high-value items., • Experience working with CRM systems such as HubSpot, Salesforce or similar.
