Role Overview Drive the integration of optical and electronic subsystems through advanced assembly, alignment, and process innovation, enabling reliable, scalable solutions from prototype through to manufacturing. Responsibilities • Lead the integration of optical and electronic modules into robust, scalable assemblies, utilizing advanced packaging approaches such as 2.5D/3D integration and high-precision placement techniques., • Develop and enhance assembly and alignment processes, including the creation of tooling, fixtures, and testing setups. Collaborate with engineering and modeling teams to optimize yield, calibration strategies, and error mitigation., • Support prototype design, assembly, and initial testing, working closely with teams specializing in photonics, electronics, and tooling, as well as with external manufacturing partners., • Define assembly protocols and process controls to ensure smooth transitions from research and development to volume production, contributing to the overall packaging and integration roadmap., • Work with external collaborators and suppliers on materials selection, tooling, and process optimization. Required Skills and Experience • Demonstrated experience in the design and integration of optoelectronic systems, including lasers, modulators, detectors, and associated electronic circuits., • Strong knowledge of optical and electronic packaging, including precision assembly, thermal management, and mechanical integration., • Understanding of semiconductor and photonic manufacturing workflows, from early prototyping to pilot production., • Familiarity with material platforms (e.g., InP, silicon photonics, GaAs), bonding/interconnect technologies, and reliability at high data rates and low power., • Practical experience with cleanroom instrumentation, optical measurement, and assembly tools is highly desirable., • Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary environment, contributing across design, process development, and system integration.
