We are looking for Removal Porters to assist with a hotel project in Central London. This temporary role offers hands-on work over a short period for those who are fit, dependable, and ready for a challenge. Location: The Strand, Central London (nearest tube stations: Embankment or Covent Garden) Start Date: 6th January 2025 End Date: 16th January 2025 Shift Hours: 08:15 am – 5:30 pm Pay: £140 per day Key Responsibilities - Lifting and moving furniture, including large and heavy items such as beds and wardrobes. - Dismantling items, such as beds or wardrobes, and taking down curtains . - Carrying furniture and objects up/down several flights of stairs in a commercial hotel building. - Packing, labelling, and detaching furniture with care and precision. - Loading items into customer vans in a specific order for efficient transportation. - Manoeuvring large, bulky items through the building in a safe and careful manner. - Handling items diligently to protect furniture from damage. - Working collaboratively as part of a team, typically in crews of 2-10 people. Requirements - Physical Fitness: Must be strong, fit, and capable of lifting heavy objects. - Punctuality & Reliability: Shift starts promptly at 08:15 am, and teams will rely on all members to be on time. - Experience: Previous experience as a Removal Porter or Picker Packer is advantageous. - Manual Handling: Ability to handle demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing stairs, and working in varying conditions is essential/ - Teamwork: Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective teamwork. - Induction: Candidates must attend an induction on the first day. - Safety Gear: Candidates must bring and wear safety footwear whilst on site. Their primary duties include: 1. Measuring and assessing the existing window and door openings to ensure accurate fit of the new uPVC units. 2. Preparing the openings by removing any old frames, sills, or trims, and ensuring the surfaces are clean and level. 3.
