This temporary role offers hands-on work over a short period for those who are fit, dependable, and ready for a challenge. Location: The Strand, Central London (nearest tube stations: Embankment or Covent Garden) Start Date: 6th January 2025 End Date: 16th January 2025 Shift Hours: 08:15 am – 5:30 pm Pay: £140 per day Key Responsibilities - Lifting and moving furniture, including large and heavy items such as beds and wardrobes. - Dismantling items, such as beds or wardrobes, and taking down curtains . - Carrying furniture and objects up/down several flights of stairs in a commercial hotel building. - Packing, labelling, and detaching furniture with care and precision. - Loading items into customer vans in a specific order for efficient transportation. - Manoeuvring large, bulky items through the building in a safe and careful manner. - Handling items diligently to protect furniture from damage. - Working collaboratively as part of a team, typically in crews of 2-10 people. Requirements - Physical Fitness: Must be strong, fit, and capable of lifting heavy objects. - Punctuality & Reliability: Shift starts promptly at 08:15 am, and teams will rely on all members to be on time. - Experience: Previous experience as a Removal Porter or Picker Packer is advantageous. - Manual Handling: Ability to handle demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing stairs, and working in varying conditions is essential/ - Teamwork: Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective teamwork. - Induction: Candidates must attend an induction on the first day. - Safety Gear: Candidates must bring and wear safety footwear whilst on site.
