Mechanical Fitter \n Location: Nuneaton, Warwickshire Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum \n We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established process manufacturing business based in Nuneaton. \n This is a fantastic opportunity for a mechanically biased engineer who enjoys working in a hands-on, heavy industrial environment and wants a days-only shift pattern with no nights. \n You will be responsible for the day-to-day mechanical maintenance of a busy production facility, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure machinery remains reliable and downtime is kept to a minimum. \n The role would suit someone from a heavy engineering, recycling, waste, aggregates, quarrying, food processing, chemical, manufacturing or similar industrial background who is comfortable working on a wide variety of mechanical plant and machinery. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across plant and machinery\n, • Respond to breakdowns and carry out reactive mechanical maintenance\n, • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise production downtime\n, • Maintain and repair conveyors, gearboxes, motors and associated equipment\n, • Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems\n, • Install, maintain and modify new and existing plant equipment\n, • Carry out mechanical engineering routines in line with the site's maintenance programme\n, • Complete risk assessments before undertaking maintenance activities\n, • Complete maintenance logs, job sheets and relevant documentation\n, • Support other engineering and operational departments when required\n, • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures\n, • Maintain high standards of housekeeping following maintenance work\n\n What We're Looking For \n\n • Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or Mechanically Biased Engineer\n, • Strong hands-on mechanical engineering experience\n, • Experience with gearboxes, motors, conveyors, hydraulics and pneumatics\n, • Confident carrying out both PPM and reactive maintenance\n, • Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills\n, • Experience maintaining industrial plant and production machinery\n, • Comfortable working within a heavy or demanding manufacturing environment\n, • Ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team\n, • Strong understanding of health and safety within an industrial environment\n, • Someone who can come into the position and quickly become an effective member of the engineering team\n\n Shift Pattern \n Days-only continental shift, working 7:00am to 7:00pm \n Week 1: Monday to Thursday Week 2: Tuesday to Friday Week 3: Wednesday to Saturday Week 4: Thursday to Sunday Week 5: Friday to Sunday Week 6: Saturday to Monday Week 7: Sunday to Tuesday Week 8: Monday to Wednesday \n If you are a mechanically biased engineer looking for a well-paid, days-only maintenance position within a busy industrial environment, please apply with an up-to-date CV for further information.
