Role: Housing Solicitor (x5)| NQ - 5 years PQE | Nationwide opportunity Leading law firm looking to recruit dedicated and experienced Housing Solicitor / Supervisor for highly sought permanent position. Housing Department Background: Our clients Housing team, ranked by The Legal 500 directory for its services across England and Wales, provides assistance to both landlords and tenants on all housing issues. Their practitioners are highly experienced in finding solutions to housing disputes and aim to address the issues quickly and effectively. Our client offers lawyer supported dispute resolution or alternative dispute resolution (ADR) as a means to resolve housing disrepair matters. Their department also regularly represents clients in the courts for unlawful eviction, possession proceedings and prepare applications for judicial review in cases of homelessness. Main Responsibilities of the Role: • Report directly to Department Director, • Responsible for all aspects of Housing work and on occasions, where appropriate providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members, • Ability to manage appropriate caseload types and complexities, • Assisting with casework including dealing with a range of public and private housing cases including Homelessness; Disrepair; Eviction; Possession; Property Ownership Disputes; Unlawful eviction; Succession for Tenants; Neighbourhood Problems matters as well as undertaking your own advocacy, • Attending clients, taking instructions and preparing cases, • Dealing with correspondence, • Maintaining accurate time costing procedures, • Implementing any recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews ensuring that these are dealt with promptly, • Ensuring compliance with file managementKey Skills Required:, • Must have a clean, valid Practising Certificate at the time of applying, • Strong management skills, • Committed team player with ability to approach team concerns fairly, foster culture of positive change and encourage cross referrals, • Previous proven supervisory experience and working to key performance indicators, • Professional with a pro-active approach; excellent client care skills and ability to deal with vulnerable client matters in a sensitive manner and resolve complicated practicalities involved in Housing issues, • Excellent networking and communication skills with the ability to successfully market the Company and generate new business, • Excellent analytical and organisational skills, • Ability to use own initiative and sound judgment, • Working knowledge of the publicly funded Housing work including legal representation and legal help and have the ability to service privately funded cases, • Have extensive experience in dealing with all Housing related work, • Experience in own advocacy is an advantage On Offer:Salary & Supervision Bonus • NQ:£46,500p.a.(Outside London), • 13 PQE:£48,500£50,500p.a.(Outside London), • 3-5 PQE: Negotiablesalary, depending on experience The Company supports hybrid working in line with its policy. Role Description A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Property Solicitor specialising in Landlord and Tenant work to join a fast growing and highly regarded Solicitors firm in Ormskirk, working nationally. This role is ideal for an ambitious Solicitor seeking a fantastic growth opportunity within a supportive, modern, and forward-thinking firm. The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor, with PQE of betweenNQ3 years. Working alongside and reporting to the Head of Legal to deliver specialist work on behalf of Landlords, having interest and experience in litigious property work is essential. You will join a collaborative team made up of both qualified and non-qualified fee earners, Business Development, Commercial Lead and support staff. In this position, the Solicitor will take ownership of a diverse caseload of Residential Tenancy matters, from giving legal advice, exercising specific legal services, leading and managing litigation, and managing files independently from instruction through to completion under suitable supervision by the Head of Legal. The role will be a mixture of office based and court-based work, including attending hearings, organising counsel, and taking cases through to fully defended Trials where necessary. Ability and willingness to travel is advantageous. A Solicitor with a keen eye for detail and one that holds themselves to high standards in terms of their drafting and communication is essential, as is the ability to manage multiple deadlines and case load priority. The ability to coach and provide direction to junior members of the team will also be necessary.
