As Head of Sustainability, you'll lead Avara Foods' sustainability strategy and drive meaningful progress toward our goals. Acting as the company's primary sustainability communicator, you'll translate complex data and strategy into compelling narratives for our people, customers, and external stakeholders. This is a pivotal role in strengthening customer partnerships, aligning internal teams, and embedding sustainability at the heart of Avara's culture and operations. This role is predominantly office based and will require regular national travel around Avara Foods Sites and external stakeholder visits. Flexible working and location can be discussed at screening stage. • Leadership & Communication: Develop and deliver Avara's sustainability strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer expectations. Represent Avara as the lead sustainability spokesperson., • Customer Partnerships: Build strong relationships with retail and foodservice customers, collaborating on joint sustainability initiatives and reporting., • Internal Engagement: Embed sustainability into our culture through effective communication and employee engagement., • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop the sustainability team, fostering collaboration and innovation., • Project Delivery: Oversee sustainability projects across the business, ensuring clear objectives, timelines, and measurable outcomes., • Governance & Reporting: Manage ESG disclosures, customer reporting, and Avara's annual For Good report., • Proven track record in sustainability or ESG leadership., • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills both with internal and external audiences., • Experience developing and delivering sustainability strategies and reporting frameworks., • Ability to translate complex topics into clear, motivating messages., • Strong leadership skills to guide, coach and lead a team, • Competitive salary, • 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), • Private Health Cover for self + partner/child, • Matched pension contribution up to 6%, • Staff shop / staff sales at discounted prices We own and manage our entire supply chain, from farms to factory and all the way to the customer door - meaning we have careers that cover a whole range of functions.
