Autism Teaching Assistant - Blackpool Start Date: 1st December | Long-Term Role | 89 95 per day Are you passionate about supporting children with autism? A mainstream primary school in Blackpool is seeking a dedicated Autism Teaching Assistant to join their team from 1st December. This long-term opportunity offers the chance to work closely with pupils aged 4 11 who require additional support with communication, sensory processing, and emotional regulation. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism Deliver tailored interventions such as sensory regulation, emotional literacy, and social communication activities Support classroom routines, transitions, and behaviour management Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals Help create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment What We re Looking For A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or relevant experience Experience supporting children with autism or additional learning needs A calm, nurturing, and consistent approach Strong communication and de-escalation skills Understanding of autism strategies, PECS, visual timetables, or trauma-informed practice is a plus Role Details Location: Blackpool Start Date: December/ASAP Contract Type: Long-term (potential for permanent placement) Pay: 89 95 per day (dependent on experience) This role is ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants, Psychology graduates, or individuals with a background in SEND education who are looking to make a meaningful difference.
