Are you an experienced Health, Safety & Environment professional looking to join a global manufacturing organisation where you can influence site-wide HSE performance and drive continuous improvement?DENSO is a $47.2 billion global mobility supplier developing advanced technology and components for nearly every vehicle on the road today.At DENSO Marston Ltd in Shipley, West Yorkshire, we design and manufacture high-performance heat exchange units and cooling modules for leading OEMs across the off-highway construction, agricultural and power generation sectors.The RoleReporting to the Head of Human Resources, the HSE Officer will play a key role in supporting and promoting a safe, compliant and environmentally responsible workplace across the business.Working within a small HSE team, you will provide practical advice and guidance on all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental Management, ensuring compliance with legal obligations, ISO standards and company policies.This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, offering the opportunity to influence operational practices, support continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with colleagues across the wider DENSO group.Working Hours & BenefitsMonday – Thursday: 8.30am – 5.00pm Friday: 8.30am – 1.30pm25 days holiday + bank holidaysBenefits include:\n\n • Pension scheme (up to 10% employer contribution)\n, • Life assurance (4x salary)\n, • Permanent Health Insurance\n, • Subsidised canteen\n, • Discounted gym membership\n, • Discounts across 100s of UK retailers\n, • Employee Assistance Programme\n, • Hybrid working\n, • Flexible start/finish times\n, • Free onsite parking\nKey Responsibilities\n\n, • Support the implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety and Environmental systems and procedures\n, • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems\n, • Conduct and review risk assessments, COSHH assessments and workplace inspections\n, • Support managers in promoting HSE ownership and best practice across their departments\n, • Monitor and report on HSE performance, incidents and corrective actions\n, • Deliver HSE training, toolbox talks and awareness initiatives\n, • Ensure statutory inspections and contractor controls are maintained\n, • Support incident investigations and ensure reporting requirements are met\n, • Liaise with external authorities and internal DENSO stakeholders regarding HSE matters\n, • Contribute to continuous improvement and wider European HSE initiatives\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\n, • NEBOSH Certificate qualification\n, • IOSH membership\n, • Previous HSE experience within a manufacturing environment\n, • Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and compliance requirements\n, • Experience working with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems\n, • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills\n, • Strong organisational and problem-solving capability\n, • Confident using Microsoft Office and external reporting systems\nPreferred Experience & Qualifications\n\n, • NEBOSH Diploma\n, • Graduate-level qualification\n, • Certified Machine Safety Expert (CMSE)\n, • Experience of machinery safety, LEV testing and environmental monitoring\n, • Experience supporting HSE initiatives within a fast-paced operational environment\n
