Join Us as a Children's Home Deputy Manager (Dual Homes)\n\n Location: Barnsley \nContract Type: Full-time, Permanent \nSalary: Up to £42,248.55 per year (including sleep-ins and on-call payments) \nHours: 39 per week \nReports To: Registered Manager, Responsible Individuals & Operational Directors \n\nWhy Work With Us?\n\n • Enjoy 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.\n, • Earn on-call payments of up to £35.\n, • Work a 39-hour week, including sleep-ins as per rota.\n, • Experience occasional office days for administrative tasks.\n, • Receive a petrol allowance when using your own car (business insurance required).\n, • Ensure high-quality care that meets legislative, safeguarding, Ofsted SCCIF, and organizational standards.\n, • Promote each young person's rights, wellbeing, and individual needs.\n, • Lead, guide, and support staff to maintain excellent practice.\n, • Oversee records, documentation, monitoring systems, and quality assurance.\n, • Support daily operations, decision-making, and service improvements.\n, • Maintain Health & Safety compliance and ensure staff training is up to date.\n, • Assist with rotas, inductions, supervision, appraisals, and staff development.\n, • Support safer recruitment and HR processes (grievances, complaints, disciplinaries).\n, • Contribute to budget monitoring, financial controls, and resource management.\n, • Ensure both homes are safe, well-maintained, and fully compliant.\n, • Build strong relationships with external agencies, commissioners, and partners.\n, • Assist with placements and admissions when required.\n, • Participate in the on-call rota and cover sleep-ins as needed.\n\n\nRequired Attributes\n\n, • Commitment to high-quality care and education.\n, • Experience in team leadership or management.\n, • Strong safeguarding and child-protection knowledge.\n, • Level 3 Children & Young People qualification (minimum).\n, • Level 5 Leadership & Management (or willingness to complete).\n, • Understanding of vulnerable young people's needs.\n, • Safe working practice and strong professional boundaries.\n, • Excellent relationship-building skills.\n, • Emotional resilience and ability to maintain confidentiality.\n, • Commitment to equality and anti-discriminatory practice.\n, • Full UK driving licence and access to transport.\n
