YARD CONTROLLER YARD HAND DRIVER Location of the Yard Controller / YardHand / Yard Hand Driver / Site Controller / Yard Person / Site and Yard Driver / Class 2 Yard Driver: Twickenham Salary of the Yard Controller / YardHand / Yard Hand Driver / Site Controller / Yard Person / Site and Yard Driver / Class 2 Yard Driver: Up to £35,000pa (subject to experience and Driving Licence - Class 2 Licence desirable) Hours of Work - Monday to Friday Days The role of the Yard Controller / YardHand / Yard Hand Driver / Site Controller / Yard Person / Site and Yard Driver / Class 2 Yard Driver: The Yards person will report into the Workshop Manager and will play a key role in the smooth and safe operation of the commercial automotive repair site. The role is responsible for the efficient movement, positioning, and organisation of vehicles within the yard and workshop areas, ensuring safe access for technicians and supporting overall site productivity. Key Responsibilities for the Yard Controller / YardHand / Yard Hand Driver / Site Controller / Yard Person / Site and Yard Driver / Class 2 Yard Driver: Safely move and position vehicles within the yard and workshop, including commercial vehicles and HGVs Ensure vehicles are parked in designated areas and aligned with site operational requirements Carry out basic vehicle checks (e.g. damage, cleanliness, road worthiness) and report any issues to the relevant manager Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard area, including walkways and access routes Adhere to all site health & safety procedures, including safe vehicle movement and pedestrian awareness Assist with site housekeeping duties as required Communicate effectively with workshop managers, technicians, and customer service advisors to coordinate vehicle movements Requirements and Skills of the ideal Yard Controller / YardHand / Yard Hand Driver / Site Controller / Yard Person / Site and Yard Driver / Class 2 Yard Driver: Full UK driving licence (Class 2 -Category C- driving licence is desirable) Strong awareness of health and safety, with the ability to follow site procedures at all times Ability to safely manoeuvre vehicles in confined or busy areas Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technicians, managers, and colleagues Reliable, punctual, and well organised Ability to work independently and use initiative when prioritising tasks Flexible and adaptable to changing operational demands If this role sounds like a good role for you then please send your CV to Danica Baker at Sprint Recruitment
