Duties:- Oversee food production and maintain high standards of food quality- Create and develop innovative menu items within the team- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards- Collaborate with the team to provide excellent customer service- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment doing the cooking and washing up on quieter days Skills:- Proven experience in a similar role within the culinary industry- Strong leadership and team management skills- Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary trends- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment- Proficiency in supervising kitchen operations and ensuring quality control- Understanding of food safety practices and regulations- Creative flair for menu development and presentation We are a small pub well known for good food. It is a small kitchen with one KP and another chef. Hours would be on average 40 a week at a pay of £15 per hour with a potential for more as the business grows. Working days would be Monday, Tuesday OFF Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday on. Please note there will be just one person working on Mondays to Thursdays in the kitchen and this chef role would require the person to cook and do the washing up and cleaning.
The Head Chef supervises the food prep and cooking, maintaining a fully stocked kitchen inventory and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage the kitchen staff and guide them to deliver quality food on time. A minimum of 5 years experience as a Head Chef is required. Working hours: Tues-Sunday 10AM-2PM and 5PM-10PM (Split Shifts with break between 2PM and 5PM) Responsibilities: Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders and quality check Supervise food prep and cooking Check food plating and temperature and quality freshness Establish portion sizes Schedule kitchen staff shifts Order food supplies and kitchen equipment, under supervision Train kitchen staff on prep work and food plating techniques Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators) Keep weekly and monthly cost reports Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area Requirements and skills: Excellent organisational skills Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends
