This role is in an exciting and fast moving environment, helping to deliver the Governments National Youth Strategy. In particular, you will be responsible for achieving the Government's vision for young people to be highly involved in shaping local, national and international youth policy and practice. In addition, you will lead on the following • Policy and programmes to increase young peoples rates of volunteering and social action., • International youth representation and policy, covering international fora, such as the Council of Europe and international programmes such as Erasmus+, • Responsible for maintaining the legacy of the National Citizen Service programmes. You will lead a team of 3 x G7 Team Leaders and 7 junior staff (2 x EOs, 3 x HEOs, 2 x SEOs) Person specification The ideal candidate would have the following key skills and experience: Essential requirements: • An excellent leader, with the ability to set direction in often ambiguous circumstances., • Effective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate with young people, and senior internal and external stakeholders;, • Great written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to deliver complex and difficult messages to a variety of audiences, including senior officials and ministers;, • Experience of grant design and management.
