Our purpose is to work with customers to maintain operations, increase efficiency, reduce total cost of ownership, and secure asset performance gains. We provide customers with quality round-the clock coverage for planned, predictive and reactive maintenance and repairs. Our main workshop is in Dudley, the capital of the industrial Black Country, West Midlands. This 35,000 sq. ft. facility houses the latest machinery, testing equipment and central functions, with a satellite facility in King's Lynn, Norfolk, specialising in electric motor rewinding and pump performance testing. We are now recruiting for a Machinist to provide support to the machine shop department by producing goods and parts from raw materials. You will use processes such as welding, pressing and machining and will be responsible for the setting up of machinery and programming. As our Machinist you will be responsible for: Involvement of day-to-day workshop in relation to quality, H&S and environmental activities Interpret engineering data and documentation such as engineering drawings, technical data and computer-generated programmes Set up, operate and adjust/edit equipment settings as applicable to the machine tool being used When using CNC equipment, to be able to produce, prove and /or edit programmes During and on completion of the machining process be able to measure and check the components produced and make adjustments to the equipment/programme to ensure the components meet the required specification To be able to work under minimum supervision, taking responsibility for the quality and accuracy of the work you undertake Be pro-active in finding solutions to problems and identifying areas for improving the business In order to be successful in this role you must have / be: Able to use mathematical techniques, to understand the machining and manufacturing processes, such as speeds and feeds, calculating angles/tapers, material removal Understanding of the practical and theoretical uses of the machines and their applications Understanding of the structure, properties and characteristics of common materials used in the manufacture of machined components Health & safety, environmental or quality training would an advantage but not essential Ability to work to instruction and on own initiative Obtain, check, and use the appropriate documentation (Such as job instructions, drawings, QC documentations) Knowledge of the typical problems that can occur during the machining process and how they can be resolved The ability to read and interpret engineering data: read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and computer-generated information in order to determine what must be produced and to what specification What We Offer: Be part of a successful, growing engineering group backed by a large multi-national organisation Join a supportive team that values accuracy, collaboration, and professional development Enjoy opportunities to grow your career in finance, with exposure to a broad range of accounting functions Work in an environment where your ideas and contributions really matter If you feel you have the skills and experience to be successful in this role then click on APPLY today!
