Role: Service Operations Manager Location: Primarily Leicester but requires travel to other depots (Leeds & Leyland) Job Type: Full Time, Permanent (Monday to Friday) Sector: Plant Sales Package: Up to £50,000 DOE The Company BTE Plant Sales has been established for over 35 years, our head office is located in Leicester with other depots located in Leeds and Leyland. We work with premium construction machinery brands that are all leaders in their sectors and utilise cutting edge technologies for their innovative products. What’s more, we have extensive experience working with plant and tool hire, house builders, ground workers, civil engineers, landscapers, utilities and many other sectors of the construction industry. We offer new and used plant sales and well as service, after sales and parts. Job Description We require an experienced Service Operations Manager to lead and oversee our multi-site franchised plant and equipment service admin department. The successful candidate will be involved in the day to day running of our service admin function, ensuring we are competitive in the service engineer market, maximise engineer utilisation and delivery impeccable customer service. Currently consisting of three sites based in the Midlands and Northern area there will be some travelling involved but the role will mainly be based in our Head Office at Markfield, Leicester. Main Responsibilities · Efficiency and profitability of our service operations · To manage recruitment and hire required levels of staff to meet business needs · To organise and support the supervisory team at each site · To lead the Service Admin department to maximise engineer utilisation · To effectively manage the retail workshop staff and external engineers · Establish common practices, ensuring consistent approaches and standards are being maintained · Ensure all work is delivered on time, efficiently and to our high standards · Ensure effective task prioritisation, scheduling, allocation, delivery and work record keeping systems are in place and working efficiently · To establish, implement and maintain effective procedures for administrative systems including day-to-day financial administration and planning for the Workshops and external engineers · Act as the nominated service representative for our franchised partners, with the assistance of the Finance Director · To manage the collection, maintenance and integrity of data within Service systems and ensure the timely and accurate provision of information, including the preparation of key performance indicators as required · Ensure staff are all provided with appropriate training to maintain standards of service delivery; plan training schedules including costings · Responsible for monitoring and developing the performance of directly reporting staff, including conducting performance reviews and dealing with initial discipline and grievance issues · In liaison with Workshop Supervisors and the Parts department , ensure parts stock is well managed across the Workshops and vans in a cost effective manner, with stock levels maintained and accounted for · Oversee the use of third party contractors and specialised repairers, to ensure that all works are completed to required standards in a timely and efficient manner Key Skills & Requirements • Extensive knowledge of plant machinery, • Previous experience within a similar role managing a team of engineers, • Ability to plan, organise and work to deadlines, • Ability to lead and motivate, • Identify and implement process improvements, • Ability to manage time effectively, • Resilient and comfortable dealing with engineers and industrial clients, • Excellent communication skills Benefits include • Competitive salary up to £50,000 DOE, • Up to 10% discretionary bonus, • 23 days holiday per year plus statutory bank holidays, • Company pension, • Medicash – sole-Level 1, • Colleague referral scheme up to £250, • Long service award
