Job Title: Transport Manager Hours: 08:30 – 17:30 45 hours per week Monday to Friday, with flexibility to cover weekends as required (time in lieu provided) Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to oversee the operational management and maintenance of a multi-site vehicle fleet. This role is key to ensuring a responsive, efficient operation that meets agreed service levels while maintaining high standards of compliance and safety. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement transport strategies, policies, and procedures, including KPI monitoring, • Conduct regular audits of fleet vehicles and associated equipment, • Manage vehicle maintenance schedules, defect reporting, and resolution processes, • Oversee repair and maintenance contracts, including supplier relationships, • Work closely with planning and operational teams to communicate and resolve fleet issues, • Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations, health & safety, and environmental standards, • Monitor driver and vehicle performance, including compliance, reporting, and improvement initiatives, • Manage transport-related costs and identify opportunities for optimisation, • Maintain accurate data within transport management systems, • Support operator licence compliance and liaise with relevant regulatory bodies, • Organise and deliver internal compliance and training sessions, • Monitor driving standards and implement continuous improvement initiatives, • Investigate incidents and insurance claims, taking ownership of resolution and reporting, • Manage rental fleet processes, including onboarding and offboarding inspections, • Prepare for and support compliance audits, • Lead and contribute to fleet-related projects and initiatives, • Maintain and support relevant accreditations and compliance standards Team Management, • Line management responsibility for Transport Supervisor and/or Transport Assistant, • Support team development, performance management, and trainingSkills & Experience, • Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation, compliance, and regulatory requirements, • Experience managing fleet operations and maintenance programmes, • Ability to analyse data and produce clear, concise reports, • Confident communicator with the ability to engage at all levels internally and externally, • Proficient in Microsoft Office and related systemsQualifications, • Transport Manager CPC (National or International), • Minimum 3 years’ experience in transport or logistics management, • Health & Safety qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH) – desirable, • Full UK driving licence, • HGV licence – desirable Additional Information, • Ongoing training and development encouraged, • Commitment to health & safety, compliance, and best practice, • Inclusive and collaborative working environment
