We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators. Private networks- We find the best technology, manage assets and refresh systems. As Solutions Design Manager , youll provide senior technical leadership across the design function while leading and developing a team of Solutions Architects. Youll be accountable for ensuring complex and high-risk solutions are robust, compliant, and aligned to customer needs, design standards, and reference architectures, acting as a senior design authority and bridging technical strategy with practical delivery. Ideally, youll be based in the North West of England, however we welcome candidates from across the UK; travel to M Group offices and sites will be required as needed. What will you be doing? Youll provide authoritative technical leadership across complex and high-risk telecoms solutions, shaping how we design, assure, and deliver at scale. Well rely on you to lead and develop a team of Solutions Architects and senior specialists, setting clear expectations and championing engineering excellence across the organisation. Youll take ownership of solution design and assurance, guiding technical decision-making where trade-offs, constraints, and innovation need to be carefully balanced with delivery practicality and commercial reality. Well look to you to play a key role in design governance, contributing to standards, reference architectures, and technical strategy, while acting as a senior escalation point for complex challenges. Youll represent the business with credibility in senior customer and stakeholder forums, providing clear, confident technical leadership during bids, mobilisations, and major change. Alongside this, youll help us continuously improvecapturing lessons learned, strengthening capability across the Solutions Architecture community, and ensuring our solutions remain robust, compliant, repeatable, and aligned to both customer expectations and our long-term technical direction. What youll bring? Youll bring a strong technical background in telecoms design and solution development, with the credibility and confidence to act as a senior technical authority on complex and high-risk solutions. Well expect you to have experience leading, mentoring, or managing senior technical professionals, with a genuine investment in developing people and building long-term capability. Youll understand the realities of delivery, construction, and operational environments, and use sound judgement to navigate ambiguity, risk, and competing priorities. Ideally, youll also bring experience working within formal design governance and assurance frameworks, contributing to technical strategy, standards development, or design transformation initiatives. If youre Chartered or working towards professional accreditation, thats a strong advantage.
