Part Time Temporary Maintenance Operative (Student Accommodation) Job Title: Temporary Maintenance Operative Location: Student Accommodation Site, Aldershot, Hampshire Contract Type: Temporary / Ad-hoc Cover Hours: 9am to 4pm 3 days per week for 2 weeks, reducing to 1 day per week thereafter Payrate: £14 per hour DBS Required. About the Role We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Temporary Maintenance Operative to provide ad-hoc cover across a busy student accommodation site. This role focuses on completing essential day-to-day repair tasks, with a particular emphasis on maintaining and repairing door locks, handles, and basic fixtures to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for residents. Key Responsibilities • Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including:, • Repairing and replacing door locks, handles, latches, and hinges, • Troubleshooting and fixing minor issues in rooms and communal areas, • Completing basic repairs to fixtures, fittings, and general building fabric, • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard., • Conduct checks to identify repair needs and report any larger issues to the Maintenance Supervisor or Site Manager., • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures at all times., • Maintain accurate records of completed tasks., • Previous experience in maintenance, repairs, or a similar hands-on role (preferred but not essential)., • Practical skills and confidence working with tools and basic hardware repairs., • Ability to diagnose straightforward maintenance issues efficiently., • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach., • Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently., • Flexible, ad-hoc working suited to short-term or temporary availability., • Supportive on-site team and full induction.
