Job Title: EC&I Design Engineer Industrial Robotics / Automation Location: Manchester / Sheffield Department: Robotics / Automation About the Role: We are seeking a talented and motivated EC&I Design Engineer to join our innovative robotics team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving in challenging environments and contributing to cutting-edge industrial automation projects. You will be involved in designing bespoke electrical, control, and instrumentation systems for a range of industrial robotic applications, including robotics, laser operations, and glovebox systems. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and document EC&I systems for bespoke robotic installations. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical, instrumentation, and control systems into robotic platforms. Produce detailed wiring diagrams, control schematics, and layout drawings. Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and safety regulations. Support testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of robotic systems. Contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives within the team. Requirements: Degree or equivalent in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering. Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, control systems, and instrumentation. Experience with designing bespoke EC&I systems in complex or challenging environments. Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., CAD for electrical schematics, PLC programming, etc.). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams. A proactive and adaptable approach to work, with a passion for tackling unique engineering challenges.
