Senior Electrical Engineer Critical Environment | High-Availability Infrastructure | Electrical SME FPG are partnering with a leading global operator seeking to strengthen its UK technical operations team with an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer in Dagenham. This is a key technical appointment, acting as the primary Electrical Subject Matter Expert for a highly resilient, mission-critical facility. The Opportunity This role offers the chance to influence the design, performance and operational reliability of large-scale electrical infrastructure, working across HV/LV systems, UPS, standby generation and advanced control systems. You will play an essential role in ensuring 24/7 availability, compliance, and continuous improvement across the site. Key Responsibilities • Lead as the Electrical SME across operations, construction, testing and commissioning, • Maintain and optimise electrical assets: HV/LV, UPS, generators, BMS/EMS, • Conduct structured inspections, audits, performance analysis and reporting, • Review and evolve commissioning methodologies, including subcontractor oversight, • Support technical operations standards and energy-efficiency strategies, • Participate in lessons-learned reviews and stakeholder performance meetings, • Provide project management input for planning, costing and contractor coordination Skills & Experience • Extensive experience in a critical electrical environment (data centres preferred), • Strong technical understanding of large-scale electrical systems, • Proven HV/LV switching experience (essential), • Knowledge of discrimination, short-circuit and arc-flash studies (advantageous), • Experience developing SOPs/EOPs and operational governance frameworks, • Comfortable collaborating in multinational technical teams, • Able to pass BS7858 or equivalent security checks

We are seeking experienced, time-served Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to join a team as Field Service Engineers. Ideal candidates will have a background in heavy engineering sectors and be skilled in electrical and/or mechanical installations, fault finding, and testing.

PPM Maintenance Engineer (Electrical or Mechanical Bias) Erith (London) Shift: EVERY SATURDAY ONLY – 12 hours, 06:00 – 18:00 Contract – Umbrella/PAYE only Pay Rate Negotiable Ideal extra-income or semi-retired role – just one shift per week, no weekdays ever. This is a dedicated Saturday PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) cover position on a large, high-volume food production site in Erith. The Saturday shift is 100% focused on completing the weekly PPM schedule while keeping an eye on production – very little breakdown work as the lines are fully staffed Mon–Fri. Perfect for an experienced engineer who wants predictable, well-paid weekend work.
