Junior Garage Mechanic (Competent & Diagnostic-Capable) Pay: £70 per day Location: Garage-based Job Type:Full-time/part-time Job Overview We are looking for a competent junior garage mechanic who can diagnose vehicle faults correctly and carry out repairs to a good standard. This role is not suitable for trainees or parts-fitters — you must understand faults, not guess. Key Responsibilities • Accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, • Use diagnostic scanners and manual fault-finding methods, • Carry out servicing (oil, filters, plugs), • Brake and suspension repairs, • Basic electrical work and fault tracing, • Confirm faults before parts are fitted, • Garage experience as a mechanic (not just assisting), • Strong fault-finding ability, • Confidence using diagnostic tools, • Good mechanical understanding, • Reliable, punctual, and professional, • £70 per day (reviewed based on performance), • Consistent garage-based work, • Flexible working days, • Opportunity to progress to higher daily rates

We are looking for a highly experienced and reliable Car Mechanic to run day-to-day operations in our tyre and mechanical workshop. This role is ideal for someone confident working independently and capable of handling both tyre services and general mechanical repairs. Responsibilities • Perform all tyre services: fitting, balancing, puncture repairs, replacements., • Carry out a variety of mechanical tasks including:, • Brake repairs and replacements, • Suspension work, • Diagnostics and fault finding, • Oil & filter changes, • Battery testing and replacement, • Exhaust repairs, • Manage the workshop alone and work efficiently without supervision., • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace., • Communicate clearly with customers regarding work required and completed. Requirements • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience as a car mechanic., • Strong understanding of both tyre work and general vehicle mechanics., • Ability to work independently and manage daily workflow alone., • Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills., • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship., • Valid driver’s licence. Preferred • Previous experience in a tyre shop or fast-fit environment., • Confident working on a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
