Role responsibilities To ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance within Finance and Governance working within Transport for Wales (TfW) data standards. • Support the implementation of the TfW data governance framework, policies and standards across Finance and Governance by monitoring and data traceability checks, and through development and improvement project to ensure TfW is legally/regulatory complaint, understands the data they hold and how it flows through the business, improve data quality and accuracy, operationally efficient, manage data risk, streamline processes, reduce costs and ensures that decision makers are using reliable and consistent data, • Support the enforcement of TfW data rules within Finance and Governance to ensure high levels of data quality, integrity, availability, completeness, consistency, privacy, and compliance. This includes identifying errors or omissions in existing data sets and establishing procedures for updating them to maintain accuracy., • Work with business stakeholders and the Business Intelligence (F&G) team to ensure data lineage is captured for all critical data elements maintaining trust, transparency, and control over the TfW data ecosystem by identifying key data elements that drive reporting, compliance, and decision-making, gaining an understanding of business rules, definitions and usage contexts, mapping these elements to data sources, transformations and outputs, using tools to automate lineage tracking within TfW data governance requirements, documenting/visualising lineage, implementing data quality and validation checks, ensuring transparency and access control, providing training on data lineage and monitoring and continuous approval., • Degree in Maths, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science or similar equivalent professional experience demonstrating your ability to work and think in an analytical manner, • Experience in data stewardship with a strong understanding of data standards, policies, and procedures and familiarity with data governance frameworks and regulations (e.g. GDPR), • Robust analytical skills and attention to detail., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams.
