Head of Operations / Operations Director Artemis Human Capital are delighted to be exclusively recruiting for a Head of Operations/ Operations Director on behalf of a leading global Health & Fitness Tech firm. Our client promotes transformative health and fitness through unique programs and evidence-based guidance, to millions of subscribers globally. They are a content-led business supported by strong in-house technology and customer success teams. As they scale, they are seeking a Head of Operations to act as the operational backbone of the company. This role will ensure cross-team alignment, drive day-to-day delivery, and free the founders to focus on vision, strategy, and brand. As Head of Operations, you will oversee the daily running of the business across engineering, product, customer success, content, and office management. You will act as the central point of coordination, ensuring execution, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced scale-up environment and can balance structure with agility. You will not be responsible for setting the product vision or brand strategy, as this will remain with the founders. Instead, your focus will be on ensuring that teams are supported to deliver effectively on time, and to the highest standard. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Coordinate department heads (Engineering, Product, Customer Success, Finance, Content Ops) to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Support delivery of the product roadmap and operational projects, keeping teams on track with agreed timelines. Help teams stay focused on member-first priorities, with performance and stability addressed before new features. Introduce and refine processes that improve efficiency, collaboration, and accountability. People & HR Oversee recruitment pipelines and act as the first filter in the hiring process. Lead onboarding, training, and appraisals for new and existing staff. Support the development of performance frameworks to maintain consistent standards across departments. Cross-Functional Alignment Act as the operational link between the founders and heads of department. Ensure insights from Customer Success inform Product and Engineering priorities. Keep tech, product, and content teams working in sync, reducing silos and duplication. Office & Resources Oversee the smooth running of the office, including facilities, equipment, suppliers, and compliance. Ensure teams have the right resources and tools to perform effectively. Contribute to building a positive culture through team events and office initiatives. Commercial & Vendor Oversight Manage relationships with external partners, suppliers, and contractors (e.g., CMS providers, recruiters, SaaS vendors). Support contract negotiations to ensure value for money. Work with Finance to track and manage operational budgets. Criteria You have 7+ years experience in senior operations, general management, or cross-functional leadership. Experience in digital, tech, media, or consumer subscription businesses. You have a proven track record of leading multiple teams or departments and ensuring delivery across different functions. You are a strong people manager who can coach, develop, and hold others accountable while maintaining a positive and collaborative culture. You are commercially aware, with experience managing budgets and working with external partners. You are comfortable working in a scale-up environment, bringing structure where it is needed while keeping things agile and flexible.
