Electrical Maintenance Engineer Field Based – Exeter / South West £43,614.20 guaranteed | realistic earnings around £53,000+ | company van + fuel paid Electrical Maintenance Engineer required for a field-based role working on commercial machinery and equipment across customer sites. This is a practical electrical and mechanical maintenance role involving electrical fault finding, mechanical fault finding, control panels, machine wiring, electrical components, pumps, motors, belts, bearings, valves and associated machinery. It is not just general building maintenance. The key thing is having a solid electrical background and experience working on machinery, equipment or site-based systems. If you come from a relevant background, full product training is provided and Meiko will cross-train you onto their equipment. This role could suit an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Electrical Service Engineer, Mobile Electrician, Service Technician or Electromechanical Engineer. Relevant backgrounds include • plant maintenance, • automated machinery, • packaging machinery, • pumps and motors, • dairy or process equipment, • water or steam-based equipment, • FM or multi-site maintenance involving machinery, • commercial equipment and site-based systems Salary and package • guaranteed take-home pay of £43,614.20, • £40,314.20 basic salary, • £1,300 shift allowance, • £2,000 additional payment paid in £500 increments every 3 months, • average earnings around £53,000+ with overtime and on-call, • new automatic van with personal use and paid fuel, • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, • pension, life insurance and BUPA, • company mobile and tablet About the company This is a long-established German OEM with over 100 years of expertise and a strong reputation for quality, training and long-term stability. I will never leave.” The role includes • electrical and mechanical fault finding, • breakdown diagnosis and repairs, • planned preventative maintenance, • installations and commissioning, • customer-facing site work across commercial environments Training Full training provided, with structured cross-training in the first 3 months and continued development after that. Hours and on-call Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Overtime is paid at time and a half and double time. On-call starts after training and is typically 1 weekend in 3.
