We are looking for a Pastry Chef de Partie to join our Kitchen team at The Gore Hotel. An amazing opportunity has arisen for a talented Chef de Partie with experience in 5-star luxury hotels or a 3-rosette standard establishment to join our kitchen team at the iconic Gore Hotel on a permanent contract basis . As a Chef de Partie, you will support our 190 Queen's Gate restaurant , which combines British culinary tradition with contemporary flavours to offer the ultimate Made-in-UK dining experience. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with our talented and multi-awarded Head Chef, Frederick Foster . Among his accolades are the Roux Scholarship , the National Chef of the Year Award , and the Master of Culinary Arts . He has also made several television appearances, including on MasterChef . You will work with brilliant colleagues across the Hotel, ensuring we are one team delivering a seamless and memorable guest experience. The Pastry Chef de Partie plays a crucial part in our success. As a Pastry Chef de Partie , you will take full responsibility for the daily running of your pastry section, ensuring all mise en place and preparation are completed to the highest standard ahead of service. You will prepare, bake, and finish a wide variety of desserts, pastries, cakes, breads, and decorative food displays, consistently delivering exceptional quality, creativity, and presentation. Working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef, you will contribute to the development of innovative pastry recipes and seasonal menus, taking into account ingredient availability and business demands. You will also support menu planning by providing suggestions for new pastry creations and assisting with cost-effective menu pricing. In addition, you will collaborate with the wider management team to design and deliver bespoke pastry and dessert menus for private events, weddings, banquets, and other special occasions, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen organisation. Key Requirements: Previous experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie or strong experience as a Demi Pastry Chef de Partie within a quality hotel, restaurant, or pastry kitchen. Experience within a 5-star hotel or 3-rosette standard establishment is highly desirable. Excellent knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, dessert preparation, bread making, chocolate work, and decorative presentation. Experience in menu planning, recipe development, and producing seasonal pastry offerings. A sound understanding of food cost control, stock management, and maintaining profitability. Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures. The ability to work calmly under pressure while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. A creative approach to pastry production with a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a high-performing kitchen team.
