Assistant Chef – Established Restaurant in Fulham (SW6)

Location: Fulham, London SW6 Pay: £14.00 per hour Job Type: Permanent We are an established, busy and friendly restaurant in the heart of Fulham, looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Assistant Chef to join our kitchen team. We are particularly interested in finding someone who is reliable, committed and settled, and looking for a stable, long-term position with us. Key Responsibilities • Assisting the Head Chef and kitchen team with daily food preparation and cooking., • Preparing ingredients and dishes to a consistently high standard., • Supporting the chefs during busy lunch and dinner services., • Ensuring food is prepared and presented according to the restaurant's standards., • Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and kitchen organisation., • Monitoring stock levels, storing ingredients correctly and minimising food waste., • Working closely with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth and efficient service. Essential Qualities & Requirements • A good level of spoken and understood English is essential, to communicate effectively with the kitchen team, understand instructions and follow recipes., • Previous experience working in a professional restaurant kitchen is essential., • Reliability and punctuality – someone who consistently turns up on time and takes their responsibilities seriously., • Long-term commitment – we are looking for someone who wants a stable position rather than temporary or short-term work., • A genuine interest in cooking and a willingness to learn and develop their skills., • A strong work ethic and the ability to remain calm, organised and efficient during busy services., • Good knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food preparation and kitchen hygiene., • A positive attitude, flexibility and the ability to work well as part of a team., • Attention to detail and pride in producing consistently good food., • The ability to follow instructions while also showing initiative and working independently when required.
