1.Job Purpose The purpose of this job is to assist with the quality assurance activities of the Business as part of the wider Business Assurance Department. The position is based at the Companys Head Quarters in Rotherham. Coverage of other sites within the UK as well as potentially overseas may be expected as part of the role. The Business Assurance Department manages Governance for the AESSEAL group of Companies including Health and Safety, Quality Assurance, Environment and Energy, Sustainability as well as compliance. 2.Job Dimensions The successful applicant will be part of the wider Business Assurance team that focuses in developing systems and processes for as successful international manufacturing business, head quartered in Rotherham. A key aspect of the role will be to facilitate this aspect of the quality assurance systems as well as maintaining associated quality standards / certification and product directive compliance. This includes but is not limited to: ISO 9001 ISO 29001 PED 2014/68/EU ATEX 2014/34/EU The role will also include: Working as part of a team to achieve targets and objectives that are key to the Business and the department. Investigating Quality incidents and implementing corrective actions. Participating in Internal and external audits, identifying improvement opportunities and working with varying levels of employees to implement improvement. 3.Principle Accountabilities: Investigation of internal and external product incidents, finding the root cause by working with colleagues across all functions to implement solutions. This will include learning about the manufacturing and assembly processes, as well as all functions of the Business in order to appreciate potential causes of error. Completion of vendor questionnaires/submissions. Help collate information and publish management reports on Measures of Performance for the Business. Promotion and adaptation of the continuous improvement approach. Assist with ensuring product quality and compliance with associated legislation. Assist in the full range of day-to-day departmental activities. N.B this list is not exhaustive, the job holder is required to carry out reasonable tasks within their level of skill and ability. 4. Skills, Knowledge and Experience: Qualifications Essential GCSE grade C and above (5 and above) in English, Maths, Science. Full Drivers license. Desirable GCSE grade A in maths (7 and above). CQI specific qualifications. Degree in business related topic. Skills & Knowledge Essential Communication. Self-motivated. Analytical. Problem solving. Teamwork. Attention to detail. I.T. literate (Word and Excel). Desirable SAP. QPulse / Ideagen. Experience Essential Continuous improvement. Problem solving. Customer service Desirable Previous experience in a Quality Assurance role. Understanding & application of relevant Directives as listed in section 2. Auditing. Handling of customer complaints. To be successful as an English and Maths Skills Coach you will have experience of working with young people, understanding barriers learners come across which affect their achievement. You will have had previous successful experience of operational delivery through effective planning and monitoring of performance against action plans and targets, particularly with young people within education. You may also have proven experience of coaching / mentoring others to make successful progress in their learning and have facilitated group learning e.g. workshops or classroom learning. You must hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or higher in one or both specialisms). It would be advantageous if you also obtained a recognised teaching qualification and evidence of recent and relevant CPD, a degree level qualification and an online learning certification (i.e. Google Certified Educator). Successful candidates must be able to support across both English and Maths. Department Info As a Skills Coach you will be based at an assigned campus and be line managed by the Campus's Maths and English Deputy Head of Department. You will be part of the cross-college maths and English team and you will collaborate effectively with cross college staff including Vocational Teams; the Quality Team, the Additional Learning Support Team, the Exams Team and the Library Staff.
