Simulator Maintenance Technician Arden White Aerospace and Aviation Recruitment are currently working with a leading aviation training and simulator organisation who are looking to appoint a Simulator Maintenance Technician to join their growing technical team based in Burgess Hill. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased technician or simulator engineer looking to work within a highly specialised aviation environment supporting commercial Full Flight Simulators and Fixed Based Training Devices. The successful candidate will play a key role in the day to day operation, maintenance and fault diagnosis of advanced simulator systems, ensuring maximum serviceability and operational readiness across multiple training devices. Key Responsibilities • Carry out planned preventative maintenance across simulator systems and associated equipment, • Diagnose and rectify faults across electrical, electronic and simulator systems, • Support the daily operation of Full Flight Simulators and Fixed Based Trainers, • Perform pre-flight system checks prior to daily operations, • Run automatic and manual Qualification Test Guides (QTG), • Complete minor workshop repairs including soldering and crimping activities, • Maintain accurate maintenance records using the maintenance management system, • Support calibration activities, tooling inspections and logistics duties, • Carry out basic visual alignments and assist with system testing and validation, • Provide professional support to internal and external customers, • Ensure compliance with company quality, safety and regulatory procedures, • Support general housekeeping and occasional building maintenance activities where required Requirements • Understanding of electrical and electronic systems, • Experience with fault finding and corrective maintenance techniques, • Knowledge of flight simulator systems including areas such as:, • Avionics, • Aircraft Systems, • Motion Systems, • Visual Systems, • Control Loading, • IO Systems Desirable Experience • Previous experience working on Boeing and/or Airbus simulators, • Experience with CAE, TRU or Sim Industries training devices, • Previous customer-facing or technical support experience, • Experience completing preventative maintenance and QTG checks Qualifications The following qualifications would be advantageous: • HNC/HND in an Aircraft Related Discipline (Avionics), • HNC/HND in Electrical & Electronic Engineering Additional Information This role operates on a 4 on / 4 off shift rotation, working 12-hour shifts across a 24/7 operation. Flexibility is important due to operational and customer requirements.
