We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Procurement to lead and shape procurement across our growing care home organisation. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving value, ensuring compliance, and delivering high-quality sourcing solutions that support exceptional resident care and safety. About the Role You will play a critical role in optimising supplier relationships, streamlining procurement operations, and embedding best practices across multiple sites. Responsibilities Procurement Strategy • Develop and implement a procurement strategy aligned with organisational goals and care sector regulations, • Establish and maintain a robust category management framework, • Lead procurement operations across multiple brands to drive efficiencies and cost savings, • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including operations, finance, and hospitality, • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve best value and quality, • Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and resolve service issues, • Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships, • Lead tender processes and contract renewals, • Oversee procurement across key areas including:, • Food and catering supplies, • Uniforms and staff identification, • Medical and clinical consumables (including PPE), • Laundry and housekeeping supplies, • Utilities and waste management, • Insurance, • Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant legislation and care sector standards, • Support compliance with regulatory bodies such as CQC, • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, • Manage procurement budgets and monitor expenditure, • Deliver measurable cost savings without compromising quality of care, • Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, • Build strong relationships with senior leaders, home managers, and external partners, • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation, • Support organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications • Proven experience in a senior procurement leadership role, • Strong negotiation and contract management expertise, • Experience managing procurement across multiple sites, • Solid understanding of procurement regulations and supply chain management, • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, • Strong financial and commercial awareness, • Experience using procurement and ERP systems Required Skills • Experience within the care home or health and social care sector, • Professional procurement qualifications, • Knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory frameworks Preferred Skills • Ability to lead complex, multi-site projects from inception to completion, • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, • Effective risk management and problem-solving capabilities, • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment Pay range and compensation package Competitive (negotiable based on experience) Equal Opportunity Statement We are committed to diversity and inclusivity.
